We will meet in the heart of Coyoacan to learn about the most relevant details about Frida Kahlo and discover on foot the historic places that she used to visit in life when living in Coyoacan, such as colonial buildings, churches, plazas, gardens, and bars, among others.
We will visit Leon Trotsky Museum to delve into the life of the renowned Soviet revolutionary and his significant impact on Frida Kahlo's life. Explore every room of the house where Trotsky resided during his final years in Mexico, gaining insight into the transcendental biographical details of this influential figure.
We arrive at Museo Casa Kahlo, a contemporary museum that offers an intimate look into Frida’s inner world. The exhibits feature personal belongings, photographs, letters, and symbolic elements of her identity and artistry. As you explore the museum, your guide will share insights into the struggles, love, and politics that shaped one of Mexico’s most powerful creative voices.

- IMPORTANT: Frida Kahlo Museum: Mexico City is home to several museums dedicated to Frida Kahlo’s life and art, including Casa Azul, Casa Roja, and the Museo Estudio Frida Kahlo y Diego Rivera. On this tour, we will specifically visit Casa Roja, where you can explore the home that played an important role in her life, and view Casa Azul from the outside, the iconic “Blue House” where Frida lived with Diego Rivera (entry requires prior reservation and is not included).

- CUSTOMIZATION: ◘ Small-group tour: Not customizable. ◘ Private tour: The tour is customizable which means the time you spend in each destination can be adjusted to your needs. E.g. if you wanna visit a place that is not part of the default itinerary (e.g. attraction, restaurant, or market), you can do it on a complimentary basis if this visit (1) still fits the default duration of the tour and (2) doesn't involve a major change of the route. If both conditions are met, we can shorten the stay at a particular location included in the program of tour so that you have time to visit the place you are interested in. Other changes such as extending the duration of the tour, changing the route, and adding extra participants, should be communicated to the Company at least 48h before the tour and will involve an extra fee.
- WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU: personal ID (or a copy: digital or in paper); personal travel insurance; comfortable clothes and shoes; hat/cap, sunscreen, and sunglasses (the sun is pretty strong anywhere in Mexico); cash (if you’d like to buy something as not all merchants accept bank cards in Mexico)
- LANGUAGE(S): ◘ Small-group tour: English & Spanish (our guides are bilingual). ◘ Private tour: All our tours are led by local bilingual (at least Spanish & English) guides. Some of them speak other languages (e.g. French, German, Italian, Portuguese) but those depend on availability and cannot be fully guaranteed. Thus, if you want to have your tour in a language other than Spanish or English, please kindly inquire in advance before booking.
