Wow! This place is magical! The view is beautiful, the staff was super nice, and all the products they have for showering are amazing!!!
Visited Forest Lagoon recently and had a terrible experience. My friend's shoes were stolen/lost during our visit. When we brought this up to the staff at the reception, the only response we got was "I'm not responsible." No empathy, no effort to help, and zero interest in fixing a clear security flaw. They need to update their process and offer locked storage for shoes instead of hiding behind a "not my responsibility" attitude. Would not recommend until they fix their security and train their staff.
A wonderful experience for the family. Beautiful place and tranquil. It could do with some relaxation areas though to take a break from the hot water. Unfortunately my son's trainers were swollen whilst we were there. As we were on holiday and travelling he didn't have any other footwear. The incident was dealt with very well by management, who helpfully provided some sliders. However we were warned not to leave our shoes on the racks in future as this is a regular occurrence. We thought that it was mandatory to take our shoes off and leave outside the changing rooms due to the shoe removal policy. If this is a regular occurrence then they need to warn customers and advise them to put them in their lockers.
Facility was very clean and lagoon crystal clear and perfect temperature.
We loved our time at Forest Lagoon. We picked the calm experience, giving us access to towels and a free drink and it was totally worth it. We didn't feel like the place was overcrowded when we got there, we could easily find quiet spot to enjoy the baths. Everything was clean, bars are accessible directly from the baths, views on the fjord are stunning and the cocktails were fresh and delicious.
This was the most calming and peaceful excursion ever. The water is amazing and the swim up bar fantastic. The community showers were not a big deal at all. The transportation from the cruise port is easy. If you have time, don’t miss this experience.
We were on a cruise around Iceland and wanted to take in one of the geothermal lagoons. We'd heard others were expensive, touristy and overrated. This one was the perfect choice. It's located just outside Akureyri on the north coast. They offer a free shuttle from the cruise port. We had a timed ticket so on arrival we were able to get right in. Others whose ticket was a half hour later had to wait. You get a digital wristband which accesses one of the complimentary lockers used to store your clothes and personal items. It also registers your drink orders from the swim up bar. Everyone needs to have a shower without clothes on before accessing the pool so be aware if you're modest. The pool itself is fabulous....104 degrees F (40 celsius), large with great views over the fjord. There were quite a few people there but it was not crowded. We even got a suntan...up at the Arctic Circle! (Akureyri is famously sunny). One tip...if ordering drinks, have everyone get their own. I ordered one for me and one for my husband since we were each allowed one drink. I was initially charged an extra drink until the problem was identified. The whole complex was clean and relaxing.
Fantastic facilities and friendly staff. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely go again.
Someone stole our brand new hiking shoes from the locker room. Socks were in them so it was no mistake. They were stolen. No meaningful help from staff. Left with super gross pair of tennis shoes. Now we have no boots for rest of Iceland trip. No compensation offered and we missed our shuttle while looking for the boots.
A bit pricey but nice enough. Wish we had known about the free shuttle from the cruise terminal
