Food Walk Alleppey (2 Hours Guided Local Food Tasting Experience)

Good food tour if it’s your only one in Kerala, but we did one also in Kochi a few days prior, and this one was almost exactly the same (local soda, beef curry, dosa masala, and fruit shake). One thing that was new was the uttappam (different kind of dosa, very good). We prefer the food tours where you try small bites of 10-15 things. This tour wasn’t that- instead, you get bigger portions of just the curry, dosa, and uttapam (and drinks). So there wasn’t much variety. Our guide Sibi was very nice. I would probably recommend smaller portions, more dishes, and maybe some seafood options (Alleppey is known for its seafood; however, we didn’t try any:(.

Excellent informative tour with an extremely knowledgeable and friendly host. All of the establishments visited were extremely welcoming and the food was amazing and very flavoursome. Definitely well worth booking.

I have just received a message from Viator to say my refund request was rejected by the tour operator. The guide did not show up, they did not respond to the messages I sent, did not give me confirmation prior (which in itself is poor business practice), and gave no reason as to why I am not being refunded. I strongly advise NOT to do this tour, or any business with this company. The whole experience feels like a scam.

I booked this tour wanting a nice street tour of Alleppey street food. I got exactly that. Sibi, my tour guide, was knowledgeable about Alleppey foods and took me to a fantastic selection of locations. Highly recommended. (Also note that the start location is in Alleppey, not Kochi.)

Fantastic food walk with Akhil who was a pleasure to get to know and who took me to a bunch of interesting places to try all kinds of different food and drink while walking around Alappuzha/Alleppey! A great way to spend an evening here.

There seemed to be nothing to do in Alleppey in the evenings so we took a chance on this tour. We are really glad we did. Our guide Sibi was such a nice guy, he led us around lots of different places where we ate really delicious food, including things we hadn't tried yet in Kerala. Come hungry!

Akhil is a kind and knowledgeable guide. The stops provide ample opportunity to try various dishes and produce while exploring Alleppey on foot. Conservative and curious palates alike will find something along the way to taste the vast spices of the region.

Terrific way to be exposed to delicious culinary delights and to places most tourists would naturally venture into. Awhile was a brilliant host and gifted with lots of local knowledge. The walk was an easy pace and he questioned our requirements thoroughly before tailoring the tour to our specific needs. As stated previously by many other reviewers, bring a he arty appetite. Tasted such a range of delightful local dishes. Ahkil is a great conversationalist and very personable. We were sad to say goodbye.
