Day trip to Cape Reinga and much more.

This was a long but fabulous day trip. Many compliments to our driver/ guide, George who was not only informative, but entertaining and considerate. He gave wonderful accounts and information adding to the great atmosphere. We loved sand boarding and the new beach bus on Ninety Mile beach. The new bus was really comfortable. Lunch was lovely and picnic stop was breathtaking. Would recommend this trip to all as a must do to Cape Reinga.

Beautiful scenery, fantastic guide!

Fantastic tour - well worth the long travel day. Lots of short stops to break up the day. Beautiful views. We had the most amazing guide/driver George - he was knowledgeable, kind and accommodating.

Taku wheako ki Te Raki

Excellent Day Out including our Coach Trip from Paihia to Te Reinga return. The train crew x 2 were informative, friendly and customer focussed service provided. It's been a while since I did this trip, but loved our Awanui Cafe, Museum Stop, The Sand Dunes experience and the walk down to the Light House at Te Reinga, to view the historical and cultural significance of Te Rerenga Wairua.

Wonderful Experience

I can’t begin to say enough good things about George, our tour driver. He was patient, knowledgable and passionate about his land, taking the tour to the next level! Although we did not take in the sand sliding at 90 Mile Beach, it was so beautiful occasion and fun to watch those that did. There was so much beautiful scenery on route to Tapotupotu Bay, but our stop there for lunch was breathtaking with the waves crashing on the shoreline. The highlight for us was Cape Reinga (Te Rerenga Wairua) where the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea collided. Could not have asked for a better experience! Thanks George for sharing the history and your passion for this amazing place.

Fantastic day trip to Cape Rienga

Was fantastic, driver was very knowledgeable, enjoyed hearing the history of the area. Main bus was very comfortable - 4WD Bus not so much! Too long on 4WD BUS.

Wonderful trip.

I booked a bus trip with Fullers so I could enjoy the scenery rather than concentrate on driving. The bus picked me up just north of Waipapa near where I was staying which was very handy. The bus driver was very informative and entertaining on the journey. We changed transport during a stop at the Kauri Museum in Awanui. The views from Cape Reinga were stunning and I took plenty of photos. We stopped at Tapotupotu beach for lunch for half an hour. On the way back we were taken onto 90 mile beach for approximately 20kms and got to have a go at dune sliding on boards provided by the tour company. The ran to schedule and I was dropped off at my pickup point. I would highly recommend a bus tour rather than a car trip.

Chatty guide provided ongoing commentary, albeit with some inappropriate jokes given the age of some on the bus.

Interesting experience on a beautiful day.

Wouldn’t go again…

I had mixed feelings about this tour. We did the full day tour and had a great driver named George. He shared many stories of the history, people, culture, and nature. He also kept us safe along the way. The only stops were at Cape Reinga, 90 Mile Beach, and quick coffee/toilet/lunch breaks. The lunch was ok but limited. While it’s a pretty drive, 11 hours is a long way to go for not a lot of payoff. I would recommend visiting beaches closer to Paihia instead unless the 2 sites have significant importance to you.
