We meet clients at "Around Vesuvio office", the meeting point, in Via Roma 32, Pompeii, usually 15-20 minutes before the departure. The tour starts exactly at the hour booked. The bus goes to the Vesuvius National Park (40 minutes) and stops at 1000 metres hight and there customers will have free time for the visit of Crater. Clients usually have 1 hour and half free time and to reach the Top you just need about 25 minutes by walk. During the walk you will admire Naples Gulf, Sorrento Coast, Capri and more islands. Once at the Crater you can see it smoking (fumaroles) and parts of solidified Lava. After that you will meet again our driver at the same place he dropped you off and you will come back to the meeting point in Pompeii. Total trip duration will be about 3 hours including bus transportation. The price includes the entry ticket to reach Mount Vesuvius Crater and it guarantees hassle-free entry to the crater at the booked time.

This tour was generally ok, but we based this tour time around the 6 hours timescale as advertised due to needing a timely return to port to make departure of our cruise ship. However, this turned into 7 hours and we were worried about not making it. Then we were told the bus coming to collect us had broken down. We were very concerned, but we made it. If booking this I would allow 7 hours, and not rely on the 6 as advertised.
Expensive for what it is. I loved hiking Vesuvius and exploring Pompeii, but there were no guides to help explain anything and it left the experience lacking. The people telling you what shuttle is yours paid no attention and if the drivers had not taken initiative to say where they were going and who they needed, some people would have been left behind. At Pompeii, they hand you an audioguide and a map then send you through the entrance across the street. No one mentions that it's not the main entrance so many people spent there time wandering lost and confused. It was a lot of money for what was basically a shuttle service.
It could improve coordination (exit and return) of times between places. The guides did an excellent job. The volcano does not have safe and clean infrastructure to receive tourists They do not offer toilet facilities. That's a huge failure.
Full day, with glaring lack of information It would be interesting to mention to visitors to bring lunch to eat on the bus between Vesuvius and Pompeii. We climbed Mount Vesuvius which requires good physical condition. And we had 3 hours to walk the archaeological site of Pompeii. No indication to go to the restaurant on the main entrance (they let us in through the exit near the Coliseum) No indication where the casts of the people and the terrace gave a view of the whole site. Thanks to ChatGPT we found the castings. But as we did not know the existence of the terrace I could not look for it. (A friend who took another company gave me the information later from the terrace and restaurant when we were off site.)
