Where do I begin? This would have to be the best tour ever! A full day spent with Bun was absolutely amazing, the places that he took us, his knowledge of his country, his people and the history that surrounds them was superlative. The day was a vast mixture of things to see, do and learn about. Traditional blacksmith, where he made knives, axes and sickles that were all available for sale. We saw rice paper being made then crossed the street to enjoy fresh and fried spring rolls, best I've ever eaten. The lady making dried banana chips, banana waffles that can be used as an ice cream cone. We stopped at a few roadside stalls for snacks we probably wouldn't have eaten. Best day ever, would highly recommend to anyone. Too many other places and things that we did to mention.
We had a fantastic full-day tour with Tah exploring Battambang by tuk-tuk! He was super friendly, helpful, and explained everything clearly. The day was full of fun and wonderful variety—great sights, authentic experiences, and lots of laughs. Highly recommended!
It was an absolutely fantastic day. Our guide Bonn provided us with a lot of information in good English, was discreet and welcoming. A pleasant acquaintance. He's a great guide. Even the rhythms are right, intense day but sustainable despite the heat.
Our tour guide was friendly and shared a wealth of information throughout the tour. I appreciated the small group size of 4 as it let us bond. The tour was also well paced. We saw all the main attractions but also had downtime during the hotest period. This tour made my time in Battambang memorable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good time and short stay.
This was an ALL DAY experience. We saw a lot! The description matched the experience exactly. Our guide, Tha, brought a lot of his personal experience to the explanations of several of the sites, related to the time of the Khmer Rouge and civil war. Tha brought us to several authentic markets and food crafters. The local market had some amazing fish stalls and I got to sample some fish that was cooked inside banana leaves. We loved sampling the sticky rice cooked in bamboo at another stall on the way to a temple. And at even another place we were treated to spring/summer rolls using handmade rice paper by a husband and wife team. Tha also took us to a rice wine maker and were able to taste several fruit infused rice wines. The bamboo train was just okay. It seemed pricey for what it was, and the cart stopped at the halfway point at a ‘shop’ where you felt compelled to purchase drinks and goods. We felt like a bit of a captive audience. For lunch on our own, Tha dropped us at a restaurant in town that we really enjoyed. Our final stop was to Phnom Sampeau to see the Killing Cave and then witness millions of bats flying from their cave at sunset. To see the killing cave we opted to pay $10 extra to have a truck take us up the mountain, rather than hiking for an hour. The cave was sobering; there was a temple complex and statues nearby that memorialized the site. The bats at sunset was a really interesting sight, but you had to wait for them to appear — it made the day really long. We were driven home in the dark. Tha did a good job. The tour was a good value, even having to pay extra for the train and truck. 👍
Nicky our tour guide was fabulous. Personalize attention and consideration. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Spoke English very well. I highly recommend this tour… ask for Nicky.
Rotha was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail with excellent English. From the rice whiskey, rice paper rolls all the way thru to the Battambang Killing Fields and Cave. He was very patient with my non-stop questions and put no pressure on me to look at sights faster. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
