Discover one of the most popular trade cities of ancient Greek and Roman Empire. Ephesus is probably the most famous ancient site in Turkey. It was a busy trade center as a port city. Ephesus had a great influence on the ancient world. Also as an important religious center of early Christianity and one of the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelations. In Ephesus you will see, Celcus Library, Temple of Hadrian, the fountain of Trajan and the Theater and more.
These are exclusive residences situated on the slopes opposite the Temple of Hadrian along Curetes Street. Commonly known as the “rich houses,” they were uncovered during recent excavations. The houses near Curetes Street feature colonnaded porticoes, while step streets connected directly to the house entrances. We will stop at Terrace Houses and explore the Houses of Rich Ephesians.
We'll visit the Ephesus Experience Museum and step into the past with cutting-edge technology that brings the ancient city to life! Through incredible projections and interactive exhibits, you'll feel what it was really like to live in Ephesus during its prime—a perfect way to put the marble ruins you just saw into stunning historical context.
Temple of Artemis is one of the Seven Wonders of the World completed in 550 BC is at the outskirts of Ephesus. It is a sanctuary built in a sacred place. The temple itself dates back to 8th century BC but the sacred place dates way back. It has been destroyed three times and rebuilt. But it has been abandoned after Christians started to rule the area.

Güfte was a great tour guide, great experience. Definitely recommend her to see the sights. 10/10 we saw Ephesus, house of Mary, ceramic making, Turkish delight and carpet making. The car was comfortable clean, air-conditioned, had water and offered to take us to lunch.
Dear Alexander, Huge thanks for the amazing review! Keeping things smooth, comfortable, and unforgettable is always our goal—so glad Güfte made your time in Turkey so special. Safe travels! Puerto Travel Team
Loved the personalized tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to customize our stops based on our preferences. Very informative.
Dear Amanda, Tailoring the trip to what you actually wanted to see is our favorite way to explore! So happy to hear your guide made the day so easy and informative. Happy travels ahead! Puerto Travel Team
The House of Mary and the ruins of Ephesus are absolutely amazing. A must see for anyone coming to this area; however, a few things to be aware of. If you are Christian and want information about Paul's time in Ephesus, your guide is Muslim and very little information will be given. Mary and Jesus are included in the Koran so they do speek well of her home and where John brought her. We also stopped at pottery studio. We own a pottery studio and the items for sale there are not produced on site. You will find d the same items in many stores in town. We were taken to a rug factory. Again, this is not where the items are actually produced and they use HIGH pressure sales tactics to get you to purchase $6000-$13,000 carpets. Don't stop there or if you do, tell them up front you will not buy!! We talked to multiple people on our cruise that experiences the same and were all put off by the hard sell. That being said, don't go to this area without seeing Ephesus!! Its amazing!
It is a super complete experience. For going on a cruise it is ideal because they pick you up at the port. Our guide's name was Hussein. A very kind and patient young man. We were very happy with him. He had a lot of patience with us, considering we were traveling with 6 children under 7 years old. He made the tour a bit express at our request, but he didn't leave anything out. Truly a complete and valuable experience!
Atentamente, Puerto Travel Team
Great. Small group and our guide Gufte was flexible and we enjoyed some small side trips. Ephesus is worth seeing although supposed home of Mary less so. Seemed mostly like a time filler and the time can probably be put to better use. Our guide helped us with that. She knew here way around and made the trip so much more interesting.
Dear Frank, Thank you for your feedback! Having the flexibility to shape the day's pace makes all the difference, and we are glad Gufte helped you navigate the itinerary to get the absolute most out of your time in Ephesus. Wish you smooth travels ahead. Warm regards, Puerto Travel Team
Gufte was an excellent guide. Very knowledgable and happy to answer all questions. She took her time showing us around the primary tourist sites but also offered to show us additional destinations that offered authentic cultural experiences.
Dear Jacob, Thank you for your review! Ephesus is full of history, and pairing the main sites with authentic local stops is always the best way to get a real feel for Turkish culture. We are glad Gufte made the day so engaging for you. Wish you smooth travels ahead. Warm regards, Puerto Travel Team
What an experience!! Travel guide, Gufte, met us at the port and escorted us to our transportation where she outlined our day. She was very knowledgeable and gave us personal time to explore at each stop. Good idea to bring an umbrella and lots of water. You also have plenty. Of places to purchase. Gufte has 12 years of experience and knows all the tricks of the trade. She was amazing. Our driver was also excellent and they both made the experience extremely enjoyable.
Dear Karl, We are thrilled that Gufte’s seasoned professionalism and our team's dedication made your day so seamless. Striking the perfect balance between insightful guidance and giving our guests the freedom to explore at their own pace is exactly what we strive for. We look forward to welcoming you back for more incredible journeys across Turkey! Warm regards, Puerto Travel Team
Our tour guide was ready for us when we got off the ship. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He went at our pace. And if anyone is thinking of using this tour guide, he is also very handsome!

I will happily pass your kind words and the lovely compliment along to him—it will surely make his day! We hope to welcome you back to Turkey for more memorable journeys in the future. We had a great experience on our ephesos tour with our guide Huseyn. The communication and information before the tour were easy and quick. On the day of the tour he already waited for us outside the port even though our cruiseship arrived too late. He gave us a lot of insight on the historical and architectural context and backstory of everything and guided us to the best spots at the best time. Of course ephesos is always hot and crowdy but he made the best out of the experience. Highly recommended.
Thank you for this highly recommended review! We are glad that Huseyin's seamless communication, patience at the port, and deep historical context helped you navigate the heat and crowds perfectly. It was a true pleasure hosting you, and we hope to welcome you back to Turkey for more incredible travel routes in the future! Warm regards, Puerto Travel Team
