Itinerary
We will walk through the ancient gates (Bab El Ain & Bab Souk) into the heart of the blue city. As your guide, I will lead you through the vibrant alleyways, the Andalusian-inspired Square El Haouta, and distinct historic neighborhoods like the Jewish Quarter (El Mellah) and the Muslim Quarter. We will stop by traditional communal ovens to learn about local Moroccan daily life, community bonds, and the city's rich history of religious coexistence.
We will walk through the lively main square of Chefchaouen, lined with cafes and the magnificent walls of the Kasbah. It is the bustling center of the city and a great place to soak in the local atmosphere.
We will stop to admire the magnificent exterior of this 15th-century fortress located in the main square. I will share the fascinating history of the Kasbah, explaining its defensive origins against Portuguese invasions and its critical role in the founding of Chefchaouen. (Note: We will view the impressive exterior and architecture only; we do not go inside, so no tickets are needed.)
We will step just outside the medina walls to discover the city's vital water source. Here, you can listen to the soothing sound of rushing water, observe locals gathering traditionally, and learn about the spring's critical importance to the founders of Chefchaouen.
To conclude our afternoon, we will take a gentle 20-minute hike up the hill to this historic mosque. From a high vantage point, it rewards us with stunning panoramic views of the entire blue city. It is the absolutely perfect spot to take photos and watch the beautiful afternoon light blanket the medina.

Our experience in Chefchaouen was truly special, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide. What I appreciated most about him is how genuinely curious and knowledgeable he is. He seems to know a little bit about everything, and he shares his knowledge in such a natural and engaging way. But what really makes him stand out is how open and welcoming he is. He doesn’t make you feel like just another tourist on a guided tour — he makes you feel comfortable, involved, and somehow part of the place. He was happy to share stories, culture, history and little details that we would probably never have discovered on our own. His way of communicating makes you feel at ease from the very beginning, and you can really feel that he loves his city and enjoys letting people discover it. If you want to experience Chefchaouen beyond just its beautiful blue streets, I would definitely recommend this tour. Having someone like him guide you makes all the difference. Thank you for all Sara
Truly enchanting experience in Chefchaouen! The tour was well organized and our local guide was knowledgeable and passionate. Recommended
Everything was fantastic the medina and the guide.
Zoubir is fantastic! He loves his city and showing it to people and you can tell this from the very first minute. In addition, he is gentil, kind heart, easy going and he knows a lot about history and culture of Chefchaouen and Morocco. Also he will show you the best spots. Definitely our afternoon wouldn't be that great without him. We are very grateful for having known him!
100% recommended. Zoubir is a fantastic person; he has shown us the best hidden spots and the most beautiful areas of Chefchaouen, and he has explained and given us curious facts about this city and about Morocco in general. Very good recommendations from him and a very positive experience with him. Thank you very much Zoubir ✨💙🤍 (and David for not showing up 😅)
We had such a fun time exploring Chefchaouen with Zoubayr! He was really friendly, easy to chat with, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. He showed us some awesome spots we definitely wouldn't have found on our own and shared lots of cool stories and local tips along the way. We never felt rushed, and he was always happy to answer our questions or just have a laugh with us. You can tell he genuinely loves showing people around his city, and that made the tour even better. If you're visiting Chefchaouen and want a fun, laid-back tour with a great local guide, we'd absolutely recommend Zoubayr!
We had such a great day with Zoubayr! It honestly felt more like exploring Chefchaouen with a friend than being on a tour. He showed us a different side of the city, shared fun facts about local life, and gave us loads of tips for places to eat, shop, and enjoy after the tour. He was really chill, happy to go at our pace, and made sure we were having a good time the whole way. He was also so funny! I genuinely enjoyed every minute of the tour with him. On top of that, he was incredibly knowledgeable, he seriously knows everything haha. We ended up talking about Morocco, Moroccans, the culture, traditions, education, and so many other things. It was such a fun and interesting conversation. If you want a guide who's genuine, easy to get along with, and knows all the best spots, definitely book a tour with Zoubayr. We left with some great memories and would do it again in a heartbeat! I recommend him to everyone. We need a Zoubayr everywhere! 😊

We’re so glad we booked a tour with Zoubayr! He made the whole experience feel really easy and fun. Instead of just showing us around, he shared loads of local tips and pointed out little details we definitely would have walked straight past. The best part was that it never felt like a typical tour. We could stop whenever we wanted, take photos, and just enjoy the atmosphere without feeling rushed. We also got some great recommendations for food, shopping, and places to check out later, which made the rest of our time in Chefchaouen even better.
