Eat in a local house & access to restricted areas in Teotihuacan

Description
It will take approximately one hour to reach Teotihuacan. Upon arrival at the Teotihuacán ruins, your knowledgeable tour guide will lead you through a detailed exploration of the ancient city, spanning its four stages of construction from 100 B.C. to 650 A.C. This journey will elucidate the significance of customs, traditions, and commercial goods as enduring elements of our national identity today. You will have exclusive access to a restricted area, aptly named "the hidden treasure," where your guide will unveil a site under investigation by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH). This location served as an early exploration and art studio within an ancient palace, offering a unique insight into Diego Rivera's exploration of ancient artistic expressions. Then, a short ten-minute drive from the pyramids will lead us to Erica's middle-class home, where you will savor delectable local cuisine, providing a taste of the town's essence through its authentic dishes.

A great experience with knowledgeable guide. Fascinating tour of the historic sight and a delicious local lunch
Hello Erica, It’s been a real pleasure being your guide in Mexico City. We’re so glad you enjoyed it, and I hope the memories from your trip stay with you for a long time!
Together with Jonathan we made a dream tour, an experience to treasure a lifetime. If you want to understand as a tourist the context, history and culture of this unique tour in the world, Jonathan and his team is undoubtedly the best option you can get. Do not hesitate. In addition, a unique fact of this proposal: the experience of eating delicious things in a private house of San Juan Teotihuacan, a few minutes from the pyramids, is spectacular and is something that you will not be able to experience with the rest of the offers-
Hola Laura! Justo es ese es nuestro objetivo. Esta experiencia se dio sin planearla y ha resultado ser una gran oportunidad para que los vientos descubran la verdadera identidad cultural teotihuacana a través de la arqueología, mitología, arte y gastronomía local 🙏
Every part of this experience was genuine, from the way we were greeted to the last spoonful of dessert. The host was so friendly and passionate about sharing her food and culture.

This experience gave me a glimpse into what daily life looks like for a middle-class family in the area. The food was comforting, simple, and absolutely delicious. I’d choose this over a fancy restaurant any day.

After exploring Teotihuacan, this home-cooked meal was exactly what we needed. Every dish had a story behind it, and the host was full of knowledge and kindness. We left full, both in body and heart.
We learned about traditional ingredients, helped in the kitchen, and tasted dishes made with love. It felt like being invited to a friend’s home rather than attending a tourist activity.
After the history and the awe of the pyramids, sitting down for a homemade meal in a real family home made the day even more special. I left full , of food and gratitude.
Eating in a local house after visiting one of the most iconic places in the country, it doesn’t get more meaningful than that. The food was amazing, but the warmth of the host made it even better.
Honestly, we came for the pyramids but stayed for the food 😂🙌 The home-cooked meal after all that walking was exactly what we needed. I still dream about the tamales! Our host was super kind and shared stories about their traditions and recipes.
We sat at the family table, shared stories, and enjoyed dishes that you’d never find in a restaurant. Everything was homemade and full of flavor. A beautiful peek into everyday life in Mexico.
