Great guide and driver, but poor planning by company

Tour guide Padhraig and driver Richard were great! Lots of history and information. Personable and professional. There was not quite enough time for the rest stops. Before the bus was even parked we were told we had 15 min. By the time we were parked it was usually down to 10. The bus was full ,the venues were full ,so 10 min was not enough time. Also, I had been informed by King John's Castle personnel one week prior to the tour, via email, that the castle would be closed early on the tour date. I had assumed that Wild Rover had made alternate plans. Evidently, the tour company had not double checked the planned venues on the route prior to the tour and had not made alternate plans. We arrived in Limerick too late to take the last castle tour. St. Mary's cathedral was also closed, so not much to do with that time but wander on a very warm day,

Cliffs of Moher

Experience is as advertised, liked it because it went to Limerick vs. Galway which I'd already visited. King John Castle in Limerick is impressive.

Fantastic Day with Wild Rover Tours and Murphy!

This was an absolutely fantastic day with Wild Rover Tours, and a huge part of what made it so enjoyable was our driver and guide, Murphy. Murphy was funny, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. He kept us entertained throughout the long day with great stories, Irish history, local insights, and plenty of humor without ever feeling like he was talking at us. He was also spot on with the timing, making sure we had enough time at each stop while keeping the entire day running smoothly. The Cliffs of Moher were absolutely awesome — easily one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. Murphy did a great job getting us there with plenty of time to explore and take in the views. One of the things I especially appreciated was how Murphy handled lunch. Rather than having everyone waste valuable sightseeing time sitting around waiting for food, he arranged things so we could get lunch efficiently and still have plenty of time to walk around and explore Ennis. That made a big difference on a busy day. We also got to see Limerick along the way, which was a great bonus and gave us an even better feel for the Irish countryside and cities beyond Dublin. This is a long day, but Murphy made the hours on the coach enjoyable and made the entire experience feel organized, relaxed, and fun. You could tell he genuinely cared about making sure everyone had a great experience. Five stars for Wild Rover Tours and especially Murphy! If you're considering this tour, I would absolutely recommend it — and if you get Murphy as your driver and guide, you're in for a great day. 🇮🇪🍀

Great Tour

Excellent experience. The Cliffs of Moher were great to see, the ride between the cliffs to Galway show some amazing land features and rocks. The tour guide (Christian) was excellent and Joe the driver guided the bus through some tight roads safely.

This is a long day, but...

This is a long day, but worth it to see the Cliffs of Moher without having to drive ourselves on Corkscrew road. We also enjoyed the towns of Ennis and Limerick. Our guide John was very knowledgeable and gave us a very in depth history of Ireland throughout the ages. The seats on the bus line were very comfortable which was also nice because it is a long ride across the country!

Great day trip. Highly recommend.

Driver John and guide Matt were wonderful. Instructions were clear and friendly. Matt offered up super interesting facts and history about Ireland through the journey. The cliffs were spectacular, though busy. Easy to navigate. Bring comfortable shoes! Lunch was delicious. Breaks were prompt and well timed. Maybe a little too long of a stop in Lymeric although the town was lovely and the info was interesting. Altogether a great trip with fabulous guides.

Not bad

The cliffs were amazing. The bus was comfortable but bring a sweater. They should double check their timing as we arrived at the castle because it was closing.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are very glad you enjoyed the day overall and appreciate your constructive feedback.

Excellent ~ with the right guide and driver !

Our Wild Rover Tour to the Cliffs of Moher, Ennis, and Limerick was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland! Our guide, Padhraig, was absolutely outstanding. He was knowledgeable, funny, and passionate about Irish history and culture. He kept us entertained throughout the journey with fascinating stories, local legends, and even treated us to live music by playing the penny whistle and the Irish uilleann pipes. It was such a special touch that made the experience feel authentically Irish. A big thank you also to our driver, John, who navigated the narrow, winding roads with incredible skill. We felt safe and comfortable the entire day. The itinerary was well-paced, giving us enough time to take in the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, stroll through the charming town of Ennis, and enjoy our stop in historic Limerick. Every destination was beautiful and worth the visit. If you're looking for an unforgettable day trip filled with spectacular scenery, Irish history, music, and plenty of laughs, I highly recommend Wild Rover Tours. Ask for Padhraig and John if you can—you won't be disappointed!
