One of the most important Catholic pilgrimages sanctuaries in Europe, Fátima is the town where, in 1917, three small children saw the Virgin Mary. Tour the homes where the children lived, visit the Sanctuary and Chapel of Apparitions, and see the Basilica of the Holy Trinity. Attend mass in Fátima if you choose to. This private tour can be customized to suit your needs at Fatima Shrine and includes round trip transportation from Lisbon. Itinerary
Begin the day by meeting a private guide at your hotel in Lisbon and boarding your private vehicle to Fátima (pick up at your hotel or vacation rental door-to-door if accessible by our vehicles)
We start our day doing all your religious and souvenir shopping in a quick stop at Fatima's shopping center so that you can have your objects blessed at mass in the Sanctuary. We will continue our drive to Aljustrel in order to visit the Little Sheppards’ Houses and places of the Angel’s 2nd Apparition.
We will also visit Valinhos, where the Virgin appeared and Loca do Anjo – place of the Angel’s Apparitions. This is one of Fátima most sacred and peaceful places. If the weather and timing is good we will still walk up to the Plith of the Hunagrians doing some of the Stations of the Cross. By now we will have to check how our pilgrims are! Most likely and after all the walking, we will be heading for a very deserved lunch! Our restaurant selections always include cozy traditional local restaurants.
The Chapel of Apparitions and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity are different places of worship within in the Sanctuary and allow visitors to tour. Don’t miss the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, which holds the tombs of the now-deceased children who witnessed the apparition - Saint Francisco Marto, Saint Jacinta Marto and sister Lucia.
From May to October there will always be an English official Mass at the Sanctuary at 3.30 PM - time for Mass is accounted as well as personal time at the Sanctuary for your petitions.
You are tiered but your heart is full! We will take you back to Lisbon safely for some deserved rest.

This the most amazing experience we have ever had! As a Catholic, to be at the sites where our lady appeared, was indescribable. Daniela was so knowledgeable & explained everything with such detail that I understood the importance of the site. She was so flexible & asked us what we wanted to do. We were able to pray attend mass & a rosary at the sanctuary. It was a beautiful tour & I highly recommend it. Afterwards we stopped for lunch & she had good recommendation on where to eat there in Fatima before heading back to Lisbon.
Daniela was our guide; she was fabulous! Our day in Fatima was the highlight of my trip to Portugal. What made it extra special was Daniela's wealth of knowledge and expertise on Fatima. She was patient and we never felt rushed. I wanted to attend mass so she incorporated time in the day for us to attend. Following our visit, we had lunch at a local restaurant, which was magnificent. Flavio was excellent. Very knowledgeable able not only Fatima but the Portuguese culture. This was a lot cheaper than the tour offered by our tour group. He allowed for individual bathroom stops and provided plenty of water. He had good lunch recommendation.

We had great tours with Viator in Italy, Spain, and Portugal, but the greatest of the greatest was the day tour to Fatima with Daniela. Daniela is an extraordinary guide and a wonderful person. She knows all the facts, and dates of the Fatima events in the most minute details. Daniela reviewed with us the entire chronological sequence of historical events from 1915 during the 90’ drive so that we would be ready for the on-site experience at Fatima. She saved us time, avoided crowds, parked conveniently, found the smartest way to make all our wishes happen. She is an excellent driver and has an exquisite taste for selecting restaurants. Flavio was a terrific tour guide. He took my mother and Aunt to Fatima and they could not speak anymore highly of him. My mother was having a hard time walking and he helped her with her wheelchair while explaining all the sites. He also sent back detailed pictures to me of their experience. Our guide, Flavio, was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I had an outstanding experience with him. He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. From the start, Flavio ensured that we never felt rushed. He gave us plenty of time to browse the gift shop on our way to Fatima, which we greatly appreciated. Once we arrived in Fatima, he shared his knowledge of the site and patiently answered all of our questions. One of the highlights of our visit was Flavio arranging for us to meet a priest he knew, who kindly blessed our religious items. This thoughtful gesture made our experience even more meaningful. He also made sure we had the opportunity to attend a full one-hour Mass without feeling pressured for time. In addition, Flavio took us to an excellent local restaurant where residents dine, allowing us to enjoy an authentic meal away from the crowds of tour bus tourists. Our visit to Fatima was truly exceptional, and much of that was thanks to Flavio's care, expertise, and attention to detail. We knew we were in for a good time when we met Daniela in the lobby of our hotel! We immediately connected with her intellect and humor. As soon as we got into the mini van, she began helping us understand the history behind the Fatima apparitions. Being a devout Catholic, she was able to explain everything we were about to see and experience in exquisite detail over the 90 minute drive. Upon our arrival, we walked through the town where the children were born and experienced their lives through her knowledge of the town, their homes, families, and customs. We then proceeded to the Shrine where Daniela once again provided amazing detail and clarity around what we were witnessing. One thing we really loved was the opportunity to have private time to contemplate and pray at various stops along the way and it really helped internalize the experience. We attended mass at 3:30 PM to finish off the tour and it was a wonderful bookend to a beautiful day. If your goal is a deep and moving immersion into the Fatima experience, you should request Daniela!
