Early morning you will depart Nairobi for Naivasha your journey takes you to Lake Naivasha. The largest freshwater lake in Kenya which is approximately 100 km from Nairobi. Later you will go for one hour Boat ride which will enable you to see the hippos, which you can easily spot from the Island. Among the resident birds are fish eagles, lily-trotters, black crakes and a variety of herons. Hippos also live in the lake.

We recently took a day trip from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha, and it was a refreshing break from city life, with lovely views of the Rift Valley escarpment along the way. We did boat rides, riding along with hippos then crossed over to Crescent Island where we did a walking safari. It was the best ever Safari I have done walking along with animals.
Great day out. Casolodge Travel and Safaris did us proud after a late start because TripAdvisor (Viator) had failed to communicate with them our booking. The tour operator was able to lay on the tour at 2 hours notice. I suggest phoning +254733912093 to book direct. Because of the late start we arrived at the game park around 11am when many of the animals were sheltering from the heat of the day, so not best timing. Then a visit to he Olkaria Spa and geothermal power station - a revelatio. A late lunch (also because of the late start ) was followed by a spectacular boat trip on Lake Naivasha.
