Cruise Milford NZ Small Boutique Cruise Experience

Description
Rated one of the Top 10 Experiences in New Zealand. Join our boutique small boat cruise and experience Milford Sound the "local" way. We limit passenger numbers on all cruises to half of the boats capacity (capacity 150 passengers) to guarantee an uncrowded and much more personal experience. Let us show you our backyard on this once in a lifetime experience. Relax with complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits and enjoy the skipper’s live commentary while marvelling at the breath-taking scenery. The smaller size of the vessel enables us to get you up close and personal with the local wildlife like New Zealand Fur Seals, dolphins and the very rare Fiordland Crested Penguin (spring/early summer). A “Glacial Facial” under the Sterling Falls is an experience not to be missed.

The best thing about Milford Sound Cruises is that the weather doesn’t matter! On a sunny day, it is beautiful and on a wet day it is spectacular! Fiordland has some of the worlds highest waterfalls and they are a popular feature of Milford Sound. In all weather, you will see water cascading down massive cliffs into the sea. Milford Sound is in the Fiordland National Park, which is part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site which covers 26,000km² and encompassing four national parks. It is widely considered to be one of the World’s top travel destinations. At Cruise Milford we know that you will have a wonderful and truly memorable day out on your Milford Sound cruise. Great experience, friendly crew. Beautiful scenery, easy parking and check-in. Free coffee and cookies on-board were an added bonus.
We had the most amazing experience from the beginning till the end. Our Driver Sam was exceptional! He truly made our experience special. Our Cruise was spectacular. I highly recommend this company if you want to travel in comfort and safety. They definitely know how to give you the most brilliant experience ever. As for Milford Sound no words can describe how truly surreal this place is.
I booked for a small group tour but ended up going in a big boat. I guess everyone gets into the same boat!
Stunning views well worth going to see. Only negative was the commentation was hard to understand his accent. Good skipper tho
Loved it! Fun afternoon. Amazing views.
Great boat, great experience. We were on the 2.45pm cruise so not so busy. Trip was 1.5hr round trip which was enough. Beautiful weather. Brad was knowledgeable, made sure everyone had the opportunity and time to see the highlights and Lachie was friendly and when asked where was the best spot to sit and spend our time, did not hesitate to answer, front, top, left. $303 for 2 was ok I guess. We stayed at TeAnau on the way back to Queenstown. Glad we made the effort
Cruise Milford — such a great experience and excellent value for money! Informative, entertaining, and with just the right twist of humour. A big shoutout to Faye and the captain! 🙌 Definitely recommend supporting this locally run small business. 😊
We went on a small team, it was fabulous. Tanya was so friendly and knew her stuff. Would highly recommend this to everyone. Gorgeous cheeky Kea on the roadside, dolphins, penquins and seals on the cruise. Never cold even though its winter. Snow on the mountains. Throughly worth every cent.
Such a breathtaking experience. We did this tour in October 2025 and the weather was wild with rain and snow making the scenes otherworldly and the waterfalls poured with vigor. It was very cold but this was trumped by how sublime the experience was. I would 100% do it again!
Everything on this trip was great!! Punctual pickup from our campsite Small group and fellow travellers Comfortable mini bus Cup of tea and Tanya’s cake at the halfway stop Tanya’s commentary and driving Weather Cruise Milford boat trip, crew and captains commentary Packed lunch Plenty of stops and no rushing Tanya
