Colombo: Private Tuk Tuk City Tour with All Entry Fees

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Colombo Experience with Bobby – More Than Just a Tuk-Tuk Ride! During my recent visit to Colombo, Sri Lanka, I had one of the most memorable local experiences of my trip, thanks to a wonderful tuk-tuk driver named Bobby. Bobby is a 39-year-old local from Colombo, and from the moment I met him, I realized that this was not going to be an ordinary tuk-tuk ride. We started our journey around 10:00 AM from Sevan Fort Hostel in Colombo. It was a holiday in Colombo because of a local festival, so the city had a very different and lively atmosphere. As I was getting into his tuk-tuk with my camera, Bobby immediately noticed my camera and understood that I was a YouTuber. Then he surprised me by asking: “Do you want me to remove the top roof of the tuk-tuk?” I was honestly surprised! He immediately understood that having an open roof would give me a much better experience and better views while filming Colombo. Without any hesitation, he removed the top sheet of the tuk-tuk, and we started our journey through Colombo with the open sky above us. That small gesture made the entire experience special. 🚕 Exploring Colombo with Bobby Our journey took us through many interesting parts of Colombo. We passed by historic Catholic churches, some of the city’s older areas, and then continued towards the Port Road and Colombo Lighthouse. At the lighthouse, Bobby stopped so I could explore and take some photographs. Interestingly, the area around the lighthouse was being used by newly married couples for their wedding photo shoots. Seeing the bride and groom taking photographs against the Colombo backdrop was a beautiful and unexpected moment. From there, Bobby took me to the Maritime Museum, where I got to see old photographs, historical exhibits and even old weapons and guns connected with Sri Lanka’s maritime history. Then we continued to Pettah Market. This was one of my favourite parts of the journey. Pettah was full of people, shops, colours, sounds and everyday Colombo life. It gave me a wonderful glimpse of the vibrant and energetic side of the city. 🗼 The Lotus Tower Experience Next, Bobby took me towards the famous Colombo Lotus Tower. He honestly explained to me that the entrance price was considerably higher for foreigners compared with Sri Lankan nationals. Rather than simply encouraging me to spend money, he gave me the information and allowed me to decide. I decided not to go up the tower this time. Instead, I spent some time at the souvenir shop and bought several fridge magnets and other souvenirs to take home as memories of Sri Lanka. That was another thing I appreciated about Bobby—he never behaved like someone who was simply trying to make money from a tourist. 🛕 Gangaramaya Temple From there, we continued to Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple, one of the most fascinating places I visited in Colombo. I spent around 20 minutes exploring the temple and taking in the atmosphere. What touched me was that Bobby even helped with the entrance ticket and made sure everything was comfortable for me. Throughout the journey, he was constantly looking after me, making suggestions and helping me experience Colombo like a visitor travelling with a local friend rather than simply travelling with a hired driver. ❤️ More Than a Driver Our journey eventually included the Old Parliament area, the old Town Hall and several other parts of Colombo. In total, we spent almost four hours together exploring the city. But what I remember most isn’t just the places I visited. It is Bobby himself. He was kind, friendly, patient and extremely hospitable. We had wonderful conversations throughout the journey, and I genuinely enjoyed his companionship. He never made me feel like just another tourist. He treated me with warmth and respect, and his willingness to make the journey more enjoyable—especially removing the tuk-tuk roof when he saw my camera—really stayed in my mind. 🙏 Highly Recommended If you are visiting Colombo, Sri Lanka, and looking for a local tuk-tuk driver who can show you the city with genuine hospitality, I would happily recommend Bobby. For me, this wasn’t simply a four-hour tuk-tuk ride. It became a beautiful local experience, a chance to see Colombo through the eyes of someone who knows and loves his city, and a memorable friendship during my Sri Lankan journey.
