Christ the King - Lisbon - 3 Hour Electric Bike Tour

Description
Did you know that Lisbon is even more beautiful when seen from the Tagus River south bank? Experience Lisbon from a different perspective, from the river level to the 133 meter-high (436 ft) Sanctuary of Christ the King. The Tagus river crossing is on Lisbon’s iconic boat, the Cacilheiro. On the south bank, we ride our electric bikes along the river, at our own pace, surrounded by tranquility. The Sanctuary of Christ the King or “Cristo Rei” is high above us, but with electric bikes we don’t even feel the steepness. Our first stop is at Casa da Cerca – Center for Contemporary Art, for coffee and a visit to the house and its beautiful garden. When in the Sanctuary, the view becomes even more amazing, with the huge Tagus River, the bridges, the colorful houses, the green Monsanto Forest and much more. You would want to lose yourself in the landscape. The return is downhill, yet with a stop at the pleasant pedestrian street Cândido dos Reis. The ferry awaits us back to Lisbon.

Itinerary
Next, head to the recent developments of Ribeira das Naus, a former shipyard area where many of the Portuguese ships that set sail to discover new worlds were built.
Upon arrival at Cais do Sodré, take the ferry across the River Tagus.
Once on the south bank, cycle through the Cais do Ginjal, a former warehouse that used to supply bait and ice to the cod fishing boats of the North Seas. Take the Boca do Vento lift to get closer to the statue of Cristo Rei (Christ the King), or cycle up the hill on the electric bike. From the hilltop, enjoy magnificent views of Lisbon and the 25 of April Bridge.
After a short coffee break in the botanic gardens of Casa da Cerca, climb to the top of the Sanctuary of Christ the King for the best view of the city.
Take advantage of the great photo op before biking back downhill towards the river to the narrow streets of Almada.
Spend time exploring the area and visit the Medieval Museum, home to relics of Islamic life in Portugal in the Middle Ages.
The return is downhill, yet with a stop at the pleasant pedestrian street Cândido dos Reis.
Then cross the river again to return to the meeting point and the end of the tour.

Safe, fun and informative. Great way to experience the Christo Rei. Daniel our guide was passionate about his tour, spoke great English and explained so much history to us.
A meeting point that is somewhat hidden. Everything was perfect and beautiful! Thanks to Eliseo, who was attentive and very helpful!
A great ebike tour. Really good bikes and Ricardo was an excellent guide. Full of useful information and helpful advice regarding both the tour and riding the bikes over a variety of terrain. We really enjoyed the tour and managed to get to the top of the Christi Rei statue after a long queue. Recommend fir those wanting to use a bit of energy and to see some really interesting areas of Lisbon enroute.
We very much enjoyed our visit with George. A caring person, we liked the content of his information on the history, life of Portuguese, etc. It was very pleasant and I recommend this guided tour to those who want to visit otherwise. Thank you!
We were so disappointed with this tour. Our tour guide gave the impression he didn’t want to be there and gave us very little information about the local sights. We would have been better to do it on our own with google!!
Jorge did an amazing job on this tour. He was very knowledgable and the bike ride was super fun ! Ebikes are fast and fun
This is our first time visiting Portugal and, for the first time, using EBikes. We loved it. Thanks to our great guide, Jose, the experience was amazing!
We thank you very much for the review, we are very happy to know that you had a great time with us! We hope you had the best experience possible, and also, we hope to see you again! All the best, Lisboa Autêntica.
The views from the other side of the bay looking over Lisbon. Our guide Bruno was a Lisbon native. He was an encyclopedia of information about the city and it's history. We had lots of great conversations with him and Beatrice. You can tell that both of them love Lisbon and love their "job".
Thank you for the lovely and kind review! We are happy you enjoyed the beautiful view of Lisboa from the other side of the Tagus River! Until another time, Lisboa Autêntica.
on arrival Lisbon rain started approx 9 am and was expected to continue to past 12 am. Arrived at shop and staff offered to delay to afternoon or cancel with refund. Since we are traveling on cruise ship with a 3:30 pm departure we took the cancel option. Next time in Lisbon we will be rescheduling with this group. Very professional and honest. Be back in few months.
Thank you for the kind review! We are sorry to hear that it was not possible to make the wished experience. We hope for a future return to Lisbon so you can join one of our E-Bike tours and have the full/fun experience! Kind regards, Lisboa Autêntica
We cycled around for three hours. The electric bike is an ideal way to discover the city and the atmosphere. Our Guide Xavier introduced us to local life, history and neighborhoods in a very pleasant and friendly way. Excellent Guide and organization.
