Itinerary
The tour kicks off from outside Gate 1 of La Quila metro station in the heart of the city. Indulge in a bowl of soaked vadas covered in creamy yogurt and topped with pomegranate seeds, something you'll have never seen in any Indian takeaway back home. Your guide will explain local life and give you the lowdown on the foodie scene in Old Delhi. In quick succession, you'll grab a claypot of sweet frothy lasse, before working your way over the finest jalebi in North India.
As you let your food settle, you'll dive into an enormous Sikh temple to take a tour of their 24-hour kitchen which feeds over 30,000 Delhites from all walks of life every single day. Try your hand at chapattis and stirring enormous pots big enough to feed an army. Now it's time to jump into the maze of Old Delhi. Your guide will take you on a walking tour around the narrow streets carefully negotiating passing cows, cycle rickshaws and tiny vendors where you'll stop to try titbits like pani puris, tasty pakoras and stuffed parathas from a little place that's been churning them out for almost a century. If you travel in winter, you may even be able to have a taste of a Delhi specialty - a white mousse-like dish covered in saffron and nuts that's often described as being as fluffy as a cloud.
Your guide will lead you to a secret little restaurant that's got no sign outside, to try one of the best paneer masala curries in the city, before washing it down with a masala lime soda nearby. Continue weaving through the winding back alleys until you hit the fragrant spice market. After a walk and talk about the spices and herbs used in Indian cuisine, it's on to the final leg where you'll try several deserts including a carrot halva and a traditionally Mughal dish made from vermicelli noodles topped with a creamy nutty layer. As you head back, your guide will have a paan made for you - a betel leaf filled with dried fruits, syrups and other good things. An adventurous end to your foodie adventure in Delhi. Meet new-found friends and enjoy local hospitality, as we end the tour with a full-bellied rickshaw ride. You'll be armed with the street food knowledge to continue eating your way through India.

We had a great tour with Gajendra. He was extremely knowledgeable, and all the food we tried was delicious. It was a very chaotic area of Delhi but Gajendra navigated it with ease and made us feel safe. It was a brilliant experience and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to explore Chandni Chowk and try some excellent street food!
An incredible 5-star experience! Exploring Chandni Chowk with Gajendra made sampling all the famous street foods stress-free and exciting. Every single tasting out of the 15+ stops was fantastic, and Gajendra's local insight made it a wonderful cultural experience for our whole family. Highly recommend requesting Gajendra to any food lover visiting Delhi!
Best tour in Delhi. Gajendra was amazing. He was very thorough with explaining the details of what we were doing the history and exactly what food we were having and how it was made. We could not have asked for a better food and tour experience. We had a great time.
Gajendra is an amazing guide during a very tasty and impressive tour. What an amount of different tastes you have in India.
It was amazing we could never get this expérience by ourself.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour through Chandni Chowk with Ranveer. He was an excellent guide who made us feel very comfortable with what we were eating and left us with the confidence to try more! He spoke excellent English and was always offering more food if we wanted it. Chandni Chowk can be an overwhelming place but if you treat this tour as your introduction you won’t have any problems visiting again in future. The booking process was simple and the communication before the tour made it easy to find the meeting point. I would highly recommend this tour.
Had a great tour of Old Dehli's food with our guide. Our small group felt safe and well taken care of with an abundance of food from many different vendors. The temple visit was also lovely to have.
We absolutely loved the food tour! Gajendra is an amazing guide; very friendly, interesting and qualified. The food was great, as well as the variety of stalls and restaurants we visited. We also didn't get sick from the street food haha. Would definitely recommend!
