Itinerary
The beach of the "Kalura" defined, by experts in the field, as the beach with unique characteristics in the world. Overhanging the sea is located in the district "Calura" in Cefalù, Sicily. It's hard to find but worth getting to this lovely place. Immersed in a context characterized by a typical Mediterranean vegetation, composed of succulents, prickly pears and pine trees, space is made between rocks with a unique and unmistakable shape. A few meters from the shoreline are the protagonists of the stacks with suggestive shapes and characteristic colors. On days with great visibility you can clearly see the Aeolian islands on the horizon: Alicudi, Filicudi, Lipari and Vulcano. The water temperature is above average, and for most of the summer the body of water is always very clear and you can see the sandy bottom up to ten meters deep. Ideal place for snorkeling
The Bastion of Capo Marchiafava is an ancient defensive bulwark of Cefalù with a polygonal shape and its tip projected towards the sea. Completed in 1642, it is the most advanced stronghold north of the fortification system of the small village. The name Marchiafava is the union of the Arabic term Marsa, which means port and the Sicilian word favara which indicates a spring. The presence of a water well at this point is, in fact, already attested in 1546. From the small viewpoint of the Bastion of Capo Marchiafava you can enjoy a beautiful view. Looking to the right, a short distance away you can see the so-called “drunk rock”. According to a legend, in fact, this outcrop would have wrecked a ship carrying a load of wine. On some special days you can see some of the Aeolian Islands on the horizon. There is, in fact, an ancient saying that goes like this: “When the island appears either sirocco or mistral.”
One of the places you will remember with the greatest pleasure when thinking about your holiday in Cefalu is the Old Port, also called “Il Molo” by many. Let’s say first of all that the Old Port is the ideal place to take beautiful photos of Cefalù, especially at sunset, considering that from here you can see the Rocca, the entire coast of Cefalù and the top of the Duomo. At the Old Port of Cefalù it seems to go back in time, since you have the impression of still being in an ancient fishing village where boats were moored almost under the house, in that strip of sand that today sees many tourists relaxing in the sun. This is the beach of the Cefaludesi even before tourists, so here it is easy to find locals. If you want you can move to the adjacent pier to take a dip, take some pictures or to observe the fish from the dock.
Cefalù Beach, or “Lido Cefalù” or simply “Lungomare” as the locals call it, is very close to the town (for the toponymy is the Lungomare Giuseppe Giardina) and extends for almost two kilometers. It is a beautiful beach of fine sand, accessible by several staircases distributed along the road above. There are a dozen equipped beaches and some stretches of free beach, so you can choose whether to pay for services or not. Certainly we can include it among the most beautiful beaches in Sicily. Among other things, we repeat that it is a very central beach and close to the town, so right in front there are dozens of bars, ice cream parlors, restaurants, pizzerias, sandwiches and pubs where you can also spend the after dinner.
Just three kilometers from Cefalù, Mazzaforno is a seaside resort that gives its name to its small coves, those sandy or pebble beaches and their emerald and turquoise sea. A stretch of coast easily accessible from State Road 113 towards Palermo, following the signs for Mazzaforno, at the gates of the Norman town. The setting for the beach and the sea is a landscape that touches peaks of extraordinary colors: from the bright green of the mountain to the bright colors of the stones, up to the blue stairs of the water that gradually becomes deeper, perfect for those who want to explore the bottom, for fans of scuba diving and snorkeling. Despite its breadth is not comparable to the long beach of Cefalù, that of Mazzaforno is besieged by tourists engaged in their frenetic search for relaxation or the hoped-for summer tan. Small yes, but beautiful.

The couple hosting were very friendly and provided lovely homemade food along with drinks and fun music. They also informed us of the history of the areas that we were travelling through. The boat was a nice size, very clean and had many outside seating options from shaded under cover or outside on the deck, both with beautiful views. I would highly recommend this experience.
Very good time, discovery of the Cefalu coast with a magnificent sea. Super friendly crew.
This is a must at sunset. Had a great time and we’ll definitely do it again!
What a beautiful way to see the coast of Cefalu!!! The boat was like a mini yacht. Comfortable and clean! Small group which made it more personal and relaxing. The captain and his wife were so friendly and the prosecco was flowing. It was one of the best days we had on our 2 week stay in Sicily. I can't recommend this tour enough!!!
We booked for 2:00 PM and we loved the ride, the landscapes are magnificent and the boat is very good. The welcome is super warm and Barbara takes great care of you! We didn't see the afternoon go by because we were having such a good time! A must-do
This was an absolutely wonderful experience. It felt really luxury, we were treated lovely and the yacht was super comfortable (it looked so much better than the other ones). The guides really outdid themselves to make us feel happy during our tour. Thank you so much! Would totally do this again, highly recommend.
Lovely boat trip around the Cefalu coastline with Skipper Nico who was very hospital, accommodating and knowledgeable.
My wife and I had an incredible experience with the crew and all the other travelers aboard. We had music playing the entire time and a variety of drinks and toasts. Each stop was perfectly timed and we had the opportunity to enjoy each location with more than enough time. We chose the sunset cruise and it was truly incredible. Definitely a 5/5 experience.
We were two adults and two children (10 and 13 years). Perfect boattrip for us! Clean nice boat, the crew was very helpful and we got a lot of snacks and drinks. The waters was perfect for snorkling, and it was really nice to se all the fishes and swimming in to the cave. We had a wonderful experience !
The entire experience front start to finish was amazing. Marcos and Barbara, a husband and wife team, were very accommodating and made the experience memorable and incredible. I would highly recommend.
