Cave, Waterfall and River Adventure in Charco Azul from San Juan
Description
This is an absolutely unforgettable experience. This day trip has it all: adventure, pristine tropical rivers, waterfalls, cave swimming, beautiful scenery, adrenaline, fun and even some archeology/history along the day. We will swim through caves, go under cool waterfalls, and even cliff jump from cliffs ranging from 8 to 27 feet (optional of course.) The place is almost undiscovered, not like El Yunque where you can easily encounter hundreds of people in a single day. Mostly just locals here or people who come with us! The drive from the meeting point to the rainforest caves is about one hour. Along the way you will see the real Puerto Rico, quite removed from the tourist area. You will see a more rural way of life where the locals are connected with nature. The scenery along the drive and hike is absolutely incredible. Once the adventure begins, we will take you through the jungle. We grew up doing this and know the area like the back of our hands, so you are safe with us.

Charco Azul and its other-worldly views is something that you simply cannot miss. Swimming through caves is exhilarating. At the end we go cliff jumping (optional) for even more adrenaline. This visit includes the Arenales Caves as well.

I went on this tour with my friend and it was just the two of us with our guide, Alexis. Alexis is rad. He is a real professional but fun and down to earth. He kept us safe on the hike/swim. Pointed out bats, plants, cave features etc. Took tons of very wild/choreographed photos/videos and cared a lot about us having fun and enjoying the experience. He was generous with his time, knowledge and stuff. The cave itself is stunning. Being the only people swimming through a river inside of a cave with the waterfalls and sounds of bats. Nothing is comparable. Absolutely worth the cost. This was the best experience we had in PR. Alexis especially made it worth while.
It was a fun adventure. John was helpful and very funny and would go above and beyond to make your adventure an exciting time.
We had an awesome adventure with our tour guide, Roy! The hike in the rainforest, swimming in caves and waterfalls, and cliff jumping were exactly as described and our tour guide was all in with our group! He was very knowledgeable, outgoing and took is on an excellent adventure in Puerto Rico. This tour is definitely meant for those with decent physical strength and health, it is a rigorous trip.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely amazing experience, and a huge part of that was our tour guide, Jean! He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and made the entire day so much fun. You could tell he genuinely cared about making sure everyone had a great time. The caves were absolutely breathtaking, and getting to experience the waterfall and river made the adventure even more incredible. 🌿💦 The scenery was beautiful, the experience was unforgettable, and Jean made sure we were comfortable and having fun throughout the entire tour. He even went above and beyond by providing snacks and a delicious lunch, which was such a thoughtful touch! 🍽️ If you're considering this tour, DO IT! Jean was an incredible guide, and this is an experience we will definitely remember. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was the coolest thing I have ever done! I loved every second of it. Our guide, Nestor was so genuine and kind, and also incredibly knowledgeable. He showed us exactly how to step or what to do to keep us safe so that we could simply enjoy our unfathomable surroundings. I felt I gained a friend by the time he dropped us off.
John was our tour guide and he was absolutely the best! Very friendly and explained to us about our adventure. Cliff jumping was great and my son did multiple jumps from different heights which he loved. I wish it was a bit longer where we could have explored and swam more of the caves. Other than that, it was an amazing experience and a highlight of our trip. John had also recovered my phone after it snapped off my lanyard into the water as I jumped off the cliff. John dove down about ~20 feet deep and retrieved it.
Family of 6, with kids 14, 11, 7 and 6 absolutely loved the tour! Edward our tour guide was an amazing. Book Edward for your next adventure ! Really a one of kind family adventure! Make sure you wear sturdy waterproof footwear as you are really navigating rocks and climbing some steep surfaces. Will also need a waterproof phone case as you are in the water for half the tour/climb!
Alexis was AMAZING! he made us feel safe and was very knowledgeable of the area. Don’t think of Alexis as your typical tour guide. He is more like a cousin that you haven’t seen in a while. If you book this trip, you will never regret it. Acho, PR es otra cosa!
Our tour guide Airam was amazing and experienced. He grew up in the area and he took us where Bad Bunny’s childhood home. This Cave adventure is not for someone who’s not physically fit, we need to hike down the hill to the first cave. Airam was guiding us metrically down the hill to the cave. It’s a mandatory jump off the cliff about 12 ft down to the cave. It was my first jump off any cliff big or small in my life, I was super nervous but it was exhilarating at the same time. I definitely rank this trip top 3 of the list of all time! Bring water shoes!
