Guests will visit Boulders Beach which is the home to a growing Colony of vulnerable African Penguins. Known as Jackass Penguins because of their distinctive donkey-like braying, and they're the only penguins found on the continent. Their diet consists mainly of pelagic fish such as pilchards and anchovy, but they may consume squid as well. They can swim at an average speed of seven Kilometres per hour, and can stay submerged for up to two minutes. Colonies can be found from Southern Namibia all the way around the Southern African coast to Port Elisabeth, but few places offer as remarkable a viewing point as Boulders Beach. The Penguins first came to False Bay in 1983 from Dyer Island, which is near Gansbaai. Back then, there plenty for them to eat and the colony grew so quick. Unfortunately, commercial fishing and marine pollution have taken their toll on the colony. In 1910, it was estimated that there were approximately one-and-a-half million African Penguins; a Century later, the aquatic bird was classified as an endangered species. By 1982 there were only two breeding pairs remaining. Incredible conservation efforts have grown the Boulders Colony to over 3500 birds in recent years. You can experience walking with penguins or choose the wooden walkways which allow you to view the penguins in their Natural Habitat in a close Range.

Muizenberg is located on the North-western corner of False Bay, about 25 Km from Cape Town CBD. Muizenberg rightly earned the Town its status as the country's premier Holiday Retreat in the 19th Century. Historical sites in Muizenberg includes the Oldest Building on the False Bay coast known as Het Posthuys(1742), originally used by the Dutch East India Company as a Toll-House to levy a tax on farmers selling their produce to passing ships. Despite the slight air of tawdriness, Muizenberg's gently shelving, Sandy Beach is the most popular along the Peninsula for swimming...with good reason. It's safe for bathing, the water tends to be flat and warm and there's good surfing in its breakers, friendly-family atmosphere. The waves are not too powerful for body boarding, surfing...

Highly Recommend

I highly recommend this tour. The guide Jeffrey was phenomenal. He picked us up and took us to Bo-Kaap while other individuals we picked up later were at Table Mountain as we had already gone there the day before. Jeffrey took photos for us, provided us great information about the culture, sites, and history of Cape Town. We went to Boulder Beach, saw penguins, ate lunch, were given some time to shop, went to Cape Point, Simon's Town, and Chapman's Peak. We were able to stay at the key places for an appropriate amount of time. It was a great tour that started around 8 AM and ended about 5 PM. It was affordable. We only had to spend monies for admittance to the state locations, which was stated in the tour information and expected. It was a GREAT value for the tour. The only reason why I am providing 4 stars is that communications overall with the tour company at the beginning after booking was slow. Yet, they did get back to me and everything worked out perfectly. I prefer this company over "bigger" companies and think they did an excellent job!! I would book with them again and again!

Great Tour

Fantastic tour, I was luck/unlucky in that Table Mountain was closed for seasonal repairs so consider that when booking but because of that everyone else rescheduled to the next day which gave me a one on one tour with Albert. Albert was great very knowledgeable and personable. I was able to hike the Cape of Good Hope up to the lighthouse as well because I was solo. Great tour and a beautiful city to see!

Great Cape Peninsula Tour with Albert

We were initially planning on self driving. We are so glad that we booked this tour instead. Albert did such an amazing job showing us all the beautiful sightings the cape peninsula has to offer. Not only did he show us around, but also made sure that we were well taken can care of wherever we went. I also can’t forget to mention his stellar photography skills 😄 Tour did not feel rushed, plenty of time in each spot. Ask for Albert!
