On reaching the 5th Century BC Temple of Poseidon you will see its stunning panoramic views over the Aegean sea and out towards seven islands. Learn how the Aegean got its name, its importance in Greek history, and of previous visitors from Theseus to Lord Byron during his own Grand Tour. Additional Booking options allow you to add either lunch (Gold package); or an extended 6 to 7-hour Tour with lunch and time for a stop at Lake Vouliagmeni Thermal Springs (Platinum package).

Your informative & professional Tour driver will be at your Hotel reception, residence or disembarkation point promptly to escort you on your tour. If you prefer a tour at sunset we will advise on your Athens departure time according to the time of the sunset in Sounio.
The Athens Riviera: Your journey heads to the Athens Riviera with its many popular beaches & restaurants as well as experiencing many of Athens distinct neighbourhoods along the way such as Palaion Faliro, Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza before continuing to the tip of the Athens Peninsula with breath-taking sea views along the coastal route.
The Attica region is surrounded on 3 sides by the sea so no wonder that dozens of beaches are available. The best ones are found along the so called 'Athens Riviera' along your route and are more organised but there are also many further towards The Temple of Poseidon if you prefer something quieter. Whatever your beach preference, just let your driver know & he will include the best option for a swim!
At the southernmost point of the Peninsula of Athens we come to the Temple of Poseidon. Located 70 meters on a clifftop this amazing temple was dedicated to the God Poseidon. It was the last thing Ancient sailors saw on leaving port & the first site on their return. Rich in myth and legend, you will learn many of its associated stories as well as its fascinating history.
If choosing the extended (platinum) package you will have the time to enjoy this natural rock formation & small lake which is set just off the sea front. The waters of this spring have been used by locals for decades as a health treatment & you will have the option of stopping here for a swim. The site is also equipped with changing faclities.
At the end of your tour you will be returned on time to your Athens residence, or cruise ship. For those with flights the tour makes a perfect ending to your time in Greece & we can take your luggage along and drop you at the airport as convenient. Please ask for additional cost for airport transfer.

Cape Sounion and Wine Tasting. Warm Penguin is a British-run tour company. They were very quick to respond, which I appreciated. Our travel group was two couples. I wanted to visit Sounion, and our friends wanted to do a wine tasting. They found on Trip Advisor a listing for a combined tour with Warm Penguin. The Trip Advisor listing said “no longer available.” I contacted Warm Penguin directly, and they were able to set up a semi-custom tour for us, on the day we needed, at a different winery. Everything went smoothly, the minivan was very comfortable, and we had a lovely day. I would use Warm Penguin's services again.

Sunset is the time to go to Cape Sunion. Morning tours to the place cannot create its magic. And WAIT ...sometimes clouds may deter your spirits, but SUN will SET:)

An interesting visit to another ancient Greek temple. It is a different option, but it takes a lot of time that could be used to explore the city of Athens on your own, if your trip is for a short time. Only if you are very interested in Greek history and mythology, since there are many other beautiful beaches in this beautiful country from which you can contemplate beautiful and free sunsets. It also does not include the ticket to access the temple. The explanation is NOT in Spanish.
We had a fantastic tour of Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. Our guide/driver, Apostolis (Tolis), was fantastic and really made it a memorable trip for our family. We were worried about the drive given we have young children but it was a comfortable trip and we were given as much time as we needed at the sites. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great trip to Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon. We had just arrived in Athens and arranged for Tolis to pick us up and take us directly their. It was a great trip and wonderful way to begin our Greek holiday. Tolis recommended a wonderful seaside restaurant for lunch run by a lovely family. There we were, having lunch on the sea with the view of the Temple of Poseidon behind us. Truly a great day! Thank you, Tolis!!

Tour operator was flexible and accommodating when I wanted to add some friends to the car and add a second pick up spot. Driver was knowledgeable and friendly. Our guide Demetrius was very friendly and knowledgeable. We visited the Temple of Poseidon first we got there before it was open and they opened early for us. It was a beautiful spot and it was amazing to be there by ourselves. We added on a stop to an olive grove for a tasting and tour of the farm. It was a really nice day, I would highly recommend.
