After reviewing the situation in detail with our captain and office team, we would like to address your points openly: Weather and Itinerary Decisions: There was indeed rough weather and swell on the corridor that day. Captain Omar made the decision to stay within the sheltered bay strictly out of concern for passenger safety and comfort, as navigating into open water toward Santa María and Chileno would have been extremely choppy and uncomfortable. However, we sincerely apologize that the captain’s communication on board felt dismissive or unclear rather than reassuring and explanatory. The Weather Communication Breakdown: When the agent reached out to us the day prior to request the 11:00 AM start time, we explicitly informed the advisor that while we had the slot open and the Port would remain open, we expected rough swell and less-than-ideal weather conditions. Since the booking was subsequently confirmed, we assumed this vital information had been communicated to you. However, we should have double-checked directly with you upon arrival, and that was entirely our mistake. Had we confirmed this with you beforehand, we would have gladly offered the choice to reschedule for a better day or cancel with a full refund. Our Company Identity: We completely understand your confusion at the marina counter, but we want to assure you that we are not a shady or untraceable operator hiding behind different names. We run two official, fully registered sister companies from the same location: Social Distance Charters (our private leisure yacht charters) and Cabo Trek (our educational marine and wildlife expeditions). Both have hundreds of verified 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor and Google earned through 10 years of dedicated service. Had our office management known about your dissatisfaction immediately after you stepped off the boat, we would have handled this on the spot with immediate care.
