Great tour, and the guide was very knowledgeable
If you're really into Bridgerton, you'll love this! The guide has a book with photos showing how the various locations you visit on the tour look in the series. He also knows quite a bit about the show, and throws quiz questions out there at various points along the tour (I found out how little I actually know!). The tour is long, and on our day, it was quite warm. You also have to navigate traffic on your own as the guide blazes ahead. He is definitely a leader, and not a shepherd. But he knows a lot, and gives a lot of information about how filming affects the locals, as well as how they altered each location to make it work for the series. I enjoyed it, but was ready for it to be over, largely due to the heat.
Not a good tour. Yes, the guide knows a ton about the filming of Bridgerton. But he does not veer from his script and gets quite snappish if you try and make small talk with him along the walk. He doesn’t seem to notice if people are uninterested- he just keeps to his memorized routine. Also, I had assumed the tour would also include things about Bath history or the time period in general. No. It is 100% pointing out the filming locations - even of the tiniest of scenes. Would not recommend.
I disagree. There is brilliant Bridgerton content. There is Bath historical content where applicable within a busy 2 hour presentation. If people are disinterested ( normally on their phone) I just have to carry on regardless with his upbeat (non scripted) delivery. Luckily the vast majority full appreciate everything that goes into this amazing Bridgerton tour ( Nowhere does it say it is a Bath history tour but some great information integrated within the time available, not withstanding small talk deviations. This is a very informative tour and the guide has excellent knowledge of Bath and Bridgerton. The quiz was fun. However, the tour is at pace and on a gradual climb therefore if you need to walk slowly this is not the tour for you. Take water to drink if it's a warm day. An older couple dropped out as it became too much for them.
The tour description does informs people what to expect. No tour of Bath can avoid going uphill at some stage. I deliberately inform people what to expect should they not be sufficiently able bodied to actually complete a Bath walking tour. I'm pleased you enjoyed the tour. Paul Elliott as City of Bath Guides
Was not impressed at all. Was supposed to go on the tour at 2pm with a friend. We were running late so called and messaged multiple times to let them know with no response. The only response I recieved was an hour later from the guide saying he waited till 2pm didn’t hear anything then left. I can prove I called multiple times and I would’ve expected they would have at least called to see if we were still coming and or least picked up the phone number which was on the contact page. Would not recommend.
No phone calls were received prior to 2pm. I would recommend arriving on time to ensure you can partake in the tour.
The tour guide was very knowledgable and funny. We enjoyed the quizzes and his in-depth knowledge of Bridgerton. We also enjoyed that he threw in fun facts about bath and history about the city.
Thank you for a lovely rounded review of my tour. All Bridgerton and Bath is in there. 'Knowledgeable & funny' is greatly received. Paul Elliott as City of Bath Guides
Hands down the best walking tour I’ve ever done. Paul was a genius for inventing this tour, he’s done deep research, and he’s super funny. I’d read the reviews that said he was grumpy, doesn’t wait for people to keep up, blah blah blah, and because of that context actually was hoping for some grumping lol. But Paul was a delight. Best money spent on this trip!
Thank you for such a positive review and confirming how well I structure this brilliant Bridgerton tour. Smiles all around. Paul Elliott as City of Bath Guides
