Bordeaux fun!

This was one of the best food tours I’ve been on. Our guide took us to the sweetest shops and restaurants! We had a lot of fun with her. The wine shop was wonderful. We had a great tasting and learned a lot about Bordeaux wines. Besides all the historical information and sweet treats we loved the duck we had for lunch. It was delicious! Highly recommend!

Fantastic tour and tour guide!

Antwan was an excellent tour guide who was knowledgeable in both the history of Bordeaux, as well as top spots to visit for good food and wine! The tour met at Place de la Bourse and Antwan brought with him some tasty canelés, a dessert/pastry native to Bordeaux Our tour was followed by a wine tasting (3 reds, but my party and I requested rose, which Antwan ensured we received). We then moved on to see some of the secret gems of the city (e.g. a former church turned into theater that showed independent films for very reasonable prices, specifically for the first shows). After seeing more of the sights, we proceeded to the restaurant where we selected an entree from 3 choices. Beverages, appetizers, and desserts were an additional cost. After lunch, Antwan proceeded to regale our group with more history of the city (be sure to inquire about Eleanor of Aquitaine!). He then took us to two shops to satisfy our sweet tooth, sharing with us a dessert known as dunes blanche (l personally prefer this over canalés), ending the eating portion of our tour at a chocolate shop called Hasnaâ Chocolats (we purchased several boxes to take back home). Although the tour could've ended there, Antwan ended our tour at a cathedral close to the Bordeaux Opera house so we could see some more sites of the city. While the tour was both to see and taste the gems of Bordeaux, which it absolutely did, Antwan was the highlight of this activity! His knowledge, kindness, and recommendations went beyond what I've experienced from tour guides. An example of this was the I was looking for specific souvenirs for children and he provided me several suggestions, some of which he knew, but also had to research. Apparel with "Bordeaux" written for toddlers and children are apparently difficult to find in the city, but with Antwan's help, I was able to purchase exactly what I was looking for! I highly recommend this tour if you're looking for knowledge and tasty gems in Bordeaux. If possible, try to secure Antwan as your guide!

Highly recommend this tour!

Antoine was professional, had a great sense of humour, and was very knowledgeable about Bordeaux—he showed us little known places we would have missed seeing. In between showing us the city, Antoine took us to a wine tasting; to Atelier des Faures (where the owner/Chef delighted us with the most flavourful food we’ve ever had!! You have to try the linguine!!); stopped at Dunes Blanche for dessert—heavenly!! —and then to Hasnaa Chocolate Grand Cru, where we had a tasting of 3 types of chocolate! After our tour, Antoine sent us a list through WhatsApp of the best places to eat, where to buy chocolate & wine, etc Tour was well worth the price!!

Fantastic tour!

We absolutely loved this tour! Andrew is a fantastic guide with lots of knowledge. He gave us a really good rundown of Bordeaux’s history and pointed out many things that we would have otherwise missed. We really enjoyed wine tasting in a lovely boutique. The lunch at a local restaurant was absolutely delicious and we had plenty of time to have a relaxed meal. Dessert was 2 scoops of ice cream/sorbet at an artisanal ice cream shop. Perfect on a hot summer’s day! The pace of the tour was great -we never felt rushed. I totally recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about Bordeaux, its delicacies, its history and its culture.
