"Bordeaux by bicycle: a 3-hour tour immersive experience"

Description
Forget the typical guided tour — this is a ride with a friend who happens to know every corner of Bordeaux. For 3 hours, you'll pedal through UNESCO-listed streets, colourful neighbourhoods, and along the Garonne with a local guide who genuinely loves this city. Our guides come from different backgrounds, each with their own stories, favourite spots, and personal recommendations. They're not reading a script — they're sharing their city with you. Ask anything. Where do locals eat? Which wine bar is worth the detour? Great conversations, real tips, and stories you'll retell at dinner. Groups stay small — up to 12 guests per guide — no megaphones, no rushing, just a relaxed ride at your pace. You'll ride a comfortable Dutch bike (helmet included), take a break along the way, and taste Bordeaux's iconic canelé.

- Getting there: Public transport in Bordeaux can be unpredictable, so we recommend allowing extra travel time. Unfortunately, late arrivals, missed departures, and last-minute cancellations cannot be refunded.
- E-bike & classic bike groups: If the minimum number of participants for a dedicated e-bike or classic bike group isn't reached, we may combine both into a single group. Don't worry — the route, the distance, the guides, and the fun stay exactly the same. It's not about the bike, it's about the experience.

Fantastic experience and the perfect way to discover the city, combining beautiful sights, fascinating history, and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Our guide Flavie, spoke English (and French) perfectly, was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and engaging, patient and open to our questions and asks - making the tour incredibly informative but also fun. We saw parts of Bordeaux and understood the city in a way we would never have otherwise. The pace was perfect: in 3 hours we saw all of Bordeaux, with some breaks and chats, and time to go in churches and passages. The bikes were comfortable and good quality - we were hoping for e-bikes because of the heat but booked too late, and, as advised it was absolutely fine on normal bikes as Bordeaux is quite flat and easy. I selected this company because they are a small size, local company, and the owner responded straight away to my message and organized promptly and swiftly, and was open to our needs. The whole experience felt very well organized from start to finish. An excellent and beautiful tour, a fantastic guide - highly recommended! PS: special thanks for the scrumptious canneles!
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re absolutely delighted that you enjoyed the tour with Flavie and discovered Bordeaux in such a special way. And of course… you’re very welcome for the canelés! 😄🍷 Thanks again for choosing our company and for your recommendation. It truly means a lot to us! Best, Mika
Excellent bike tour with Mika! Here's what we loved about this tour- 1- safety first! 2- Mika is extremely knowledgeable about Bordeaux and its history. He is also very friendly and good natured. 3- We were able to see so much of Bordeaux in a three hour tour- seems like we hit all the highlights. 4- This tour is a great value for the money. We loved the complimentary small cake.
Dear Susan, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a real pleasure having you with me and sharing Bordeaux with you. I’m especially happy you enjoyed the little local cake — a small taste of Bordeaux to make the ride even better! 😊 Thank you again for choosing Monsieur Bacchus, and I hope to see you back in Bordeaux one day! Warm regards, Mika
A great way to learn about the history of Bordeaux and appreciate the city as it now is I was happy with the experience but it was diminished by incorporating two people who did not speak English . This was an English speaking group but the guide spoke French about half the time to the two non English speaking couple which was a wasted opportunity for the rest of the group. I would strongly recommend that he does not do this in future It could have been so much better.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for joining us for the Bordeaux by bicycle experience. I would, however, like to clarify an important point in your review. It is simply not accurate to say that “the guide spoke French about half the time.” The tour was conducted in English, as advertised and as booked. The two guests you refer to had specifically booked the English-language tour, despite not speaking English. Once this became apparent, I occasionally explained certain points to them in French so that they could understand and participate. This was simply an attempt to accommodate everyone and manage an unexpected situation fairly. I would also invite you to consider the situation from the opposite perspective. If you had booked a tour in a language you did not speak, and the guide happened to speak your language, I would certainly not have left you completely excluded from the experience. I have travelled extensively myself and have worked in tourism for more than 16 years. In my experience, these situations do sometimes happen, and when I have the ability to help someone understand and participate, I naturally do so. To me, this is simply a matter of common sense and hospitality. This is not something I normally do, nor is it the way our English tours are conducted. The explanations in French were occasional and specifically directed at the two guests who could not understand English. The rest of the tour and the guiding were conducted in English. As a small, independent local business, we also have to work with the reality of the market. There is unfortunately very little demand for French-language group tours, which means that we cannot simply run separate tours in every language for every booking. We therefore do our best to accommodate guests when possible while maintaining the quality of the experience for the majority of the group. I completely respect that you would have preferred the tour to remain exclusively in English, and I take that feedback on board. However, I think it is important for future guests reading these reviews to have the full context: the tour was not conducted half in French and half in English. That description does not reflect what actually happened. You are also the first guest to raise this particular concern in such a strong way. We have received many positive comments from other participants about the tour and the guiding, but of course every guest is entitled to their own perception of the experience. Best, Mika
Beautiful bicycle tour, the guide was very well-prepared, athletic, and above all very, very kind. It is a different way to visit Bordeaux and its wonders, it is unmissable! I recommend doing it at the beginning of the vacation, so as to have an idea of the various areas of the city to be able to visit. Very fun, a beautiful carefree morning. Highly recommended
