Bighorn Sheep Canyon Whitewater Rafting – Families & Beginners
Description
Floating past spectacular geological formations and views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as you run exciting Class II-III rapids. This trip is suitable for families, first timers or experienced rafters with great views and lots of adventure. You will run the best 10 miles of whitewater in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, groups or individuals looking to experience whitewater rafting in Colorado for the first time or tenth time. Great views and adventure! 2 to 3 hours on the water. This is the only trip that can start out of either of our locations.

Itinerary
You will meet at our office and check in with our friendly office staff, meet your guide, get outfitted with the proper rafting equipment, go through and in depth safety orientation and then hop on a van or bus for a 25-30 drive to the river put int
Once you arrive at the the river you will be given specific a professional guide that will take you on an adventure of a life time! You will spend 2-2.5 hours on the water running great whitewater, potential Bighorn Sheep sightings and viewing amazing Colorado scenery.
After you finish your amazing trip we will shuttle you back to our office which is about a 10 minute drive. Once you arrive at our office you will be able to change into dry clothes and see your action photos from your river trip!

- Recommended dress code is no cotton. Anything synthetic such as swimwear, workout gear, and sandals/sneakers with a heel. No flip flops for crocks!

We are visiting from California, my family has done the tour before but this is my very first time water rafting. Our guide was Hales. She was absolutely amazing, she made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Her instructions was very clear. It was our family and she made sure the kids were having blast, ofcourse the adults as as well. I think the other guides were also very nice and they all had a great positive attitudes making sure all of the groups would have an amazing time. The lady in the front desk by the merch was very kind and welcoming. Thank you so much for giving us an unforgettable experience!

We had a great time, despite the low river levels this summer. Our guide, Tyler, was safety conscious and gave clear instructions for paddling and navigating specific locations.
Great time on the river. Our four-person (generally inexperienced) adult group enjoyed everything about this tour. Dave, the “E-Man,” navigated the Arkansas with skill and directed our group with clear communication. The check-in, safety brief, launch and round trip transportation were efficient and pleasant. The river swimming hole stop was a refreshing break. The staff really did a great job. I highly recommend ART and Dave and plan to book with them in the future.

I had a great time on the river today. All I can describe the days events is that IT WAS AWESOME. I never did anything like this before so was not sure what to expect, but our guide Emma was the best. Words can not describe how knowledgeable and enthusiastic she was and how encouraging she was to her "crew" with different skill sets. I highly recommend her and the outfit she works with. I would definitely do this again.

We had a fantastic afternoon with Arkansas River Tours. Our guide, E Man, was a great character and so knowledgeable. He taught us how to paddle and our young teenage son felt very safe. His highlight was jumping off a rock into the river! We all had a chance to swim which was an added bonus. The tour left promptly and we were way ahead of the other tour operators on the river. The only tiny negative feedback was the cost of the photos which was high - at around $20 we would have bought one but we felt $35 was too expensive. All in all, it was a brilliant day and we would only ever use Arkansas River Tours for future trips. Thanks!
