BEST of Table Mountain! Exhilarating Full-day Guided Hike

This hike was a challenge but in a good way and I don't think a better guide could have been provided. The knowledge of everything involved in the hike was amazing and if your a hiker who likes a challenge, highly recommend doing this.

We had an amazing hike to the top of Table Mountain with Santie. We loved the beauty of the mountain and views, the variety of terrain and flora and, best of all, Santie’s knowledge and explanations about the flora and the mountain. This hike is for someone comfortable with a long hike, no extreme fear of heights and in good physical condition. If so, go! You’ll love it.

Santie guided us to the top of the Table Mountain in the winter time of Cape Town. The Cape Cars were closed. We had to hike it up and down. It was a wonderful experience. We wear tired, but very happy.

I had a great time with Santie today in a small group hiking up table mountain. She was very knowledgeable and I particularly enjoyed her wisdom on the flora of the mountain. Would thoroughly recommend the tranquility route.

Absolutely fabulous hike, taking in some beautiful scenery. Santie was very knowledgeable about the area and its flora/fauna. Coffee and rusks at morning break also a highlight!! Well worth it!!

We would never found this route by ourselves, beautiful views, and we really appreciate all the thing she has shown us about different plants and native species! Had a wonderful hike up the gorge with Santi. The stairs were something else, but she kept the mood positive. Showed some really awesome views but the best part was the homemade rusk and coffee at the top that she brought for the top. Definitely recommend.

Santie was fantastic - she has deep knowledge of everything to do with Table Mountain and has picked out the best bits of all the standard routes so you get a curated tour of the beautiful national park. I felt safe, well looked after and learnt a lot about the history and nature of the mountain throughout the day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to truly experience the whole of this beautiful area rather than just getting the cable car to the top of Table Mountain!

Santie provided a detailed description of the hike ahead of the event. She was well prepared, on time, explained things very well and was very cheerful which made for an enjoyable experience. Her knowledge of the area and especially the fynbos is outstanding. She never grew tired of answering questions. I've had the pleasure to hike several times with Santie during my long-term stay in Cape Town (Nov 2022-Feb 2023). From Mt Rochelle to some well kept secret spots on Table Mountain and the astonishing Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, meeting Santie almost instantly switched my "I only love to hike solo" kinda mood to "Let's book a hike with her every other week-end" ! Santie is a super reliable and qualified mountain guide, a deep lover of her country and its incredible nature, as well as an amazing Fynbos whisperer. From discovering Cape Town's most beautiful hikes and tracks to learning casually about its surrounding nature, hiking at least once with Santie and giving a try to her famous rooibos-condensed-milk tea should be on top of every Cape Town travellers MUST-DO list !

Spending time in Cape Town and exploring its surrounding nature has been one of my biggest dreams for a long time. I made it happen last year, from November 2022 to February 2023. During them 3 months in Mother City, I "accidentally" met Santie through another hiking acquaintance, as I used to hike solo most of the time. I said accidentally, but now I know that it was nothing like an accident, because some things are simply meant to be. I found in Santie a qualified and reliable mountain guide, a great barista, an afrikaans and history teacher, and above all : a very dear friend. Santie's passion for the mountain and the nature is so contagious, I could never get bored of her sharing her knowledge with me. We also shared countless hours of chatters, laughers, river ans waterfall swims, yummy snacks and breathtaking views. I'll be forever grateful to have met this beautiful being and I'm looking forward to our next adventures !

After visiting Cape Town and hiking Table Mountain previously myself, I wanted to seek out a tour guide that could provide a wonderful experience for my partner and I while also showing us some more of the secluded and "off the beaten path" parts of the mountain. Santie was FANTASTIC and made our day with her such a joy! She went above and beyond to provide us the history of the mountain, point out the incredible variety and diversity of flowers and fynbos on the mountain, and answer any of our questions in addition to guiding us to spectacular locations and views. Was truly an experience that we could not have had with out her. We had such a wonderful day and will be recommending Santie to any of our friends that visit Cape Town in the future!!

My husband and I wanted to book a guide to do a EPIC table mountain hike. We were lucky enough to find Santie and when I contacted her I asked her to suggest the most epic all inclusive Table mountain hike ever. She replied suggesting the Paradise Lost and Found hike and we immediately agreed. It was incredible. I have hiked Table mountain before but never so extensively. To see the whole mountain from Houtbay to to the Table top was incredible. It was tough but totally worth it. From the hike up in Houtbay with the incredible views over towards Cape Point. Walking along the 12 apostles in-between the beauty of the fynbos. Seeing all the major Table Mountain sights and then lunch next to the most beautiful river surrounded by frogs, and then finishing off at the Table top with the views across Cape Town city centre. My husband descended with Santie and I took the cable car. I would not recommend doing this hike without a guide, the different trails on top of the mountain are not very well marked and I think it can be rather easy to get lost. Santie also enriched the hike by telling us so much history and explaining about all the different plants and areas. She knows the mountain like the back of her hand. She also made us lovely tea and coffee and stopped at the best sites for breaks and views. It was beyond memorable and so beautiful. I cannot recommend doing this epic hike more!

My partner and I did 2 hikes with Santie: one sunrise hike up Lions' Head, and a full-day hike up Table Mountain. They've both been the highlight of my trip to Cape Town! Santie was very friendly and helpful, answered all my questions pre-trip about what paths to take, and adjusted according to our level of confidence. I especially enjoyed the full day hike up Table Mountain, because Santie took us on a less followed path that was amazing, up the mountain and then into a valley where we stopped by a stream to take a dip in the water. We had snacks and tea along the way, and I really enjoyed our little chats :) Table Mountain is an amazing place, but I would definitely recommend hiking with a guide, and Santie was the best we could ask for!

I stayed for 3 months in Cape Town and my hikes with Santie were the highlight of my time there. In addition to this glorious day in the mountains, I did a number of other stunning adventures on Table Mountain and beyond - including one on Christmas Day the memories of which I will treasure forever. The secret spot for our Xmas picnic was simply magical. Santie is an excellent guide - she has so much knowledge to share about the mountains and the flora and fauna, and creates a beautiful warm and welcoming vibe amongst the group. I joined solo and always enjoyed the great company of my small group of fellow hikers. And you cannot miss her legendary rooibos tea laced with condensed milk. I cannot recommend hiking with Santie highly enough and when I return to this stunning city she will be top of my list!
