Itinerary
Stop at Fossen Bratte, an impressive 80-meter (262-foot) waterfall plunging in a near-vertical drop down the mountainside. Walk close enough to feel the refreshing mist on your skin, take stunning photos, and enjoy amazing views over the surrounding valley. This is one of those places where Norway's dramatic nature can be experienced.
Standing 46 metres (151 feet) tall, Steinsdalsfossen is not the largest waterfall in Norway, but it offers one of the country's most unique experiences. A path leads behind the waterfall, allowing you to walk behind the cascading water. With plenty of time to enjoy the stop, you can explore at your own pace. Walk behind the waterfall, capture memorable photos, browse the local souvenir shop, or relax with a coffee or ice cream. A nearby viewpoint also offers beautiful views across the Hardanger countryside, offering a good moment to make stunning pictures.
You will travel along the Hardangerfjord, the second longest fjord in Norway and one of the country’s 18 official National Scenic Routes. The route is known for its exceptional natural beauty, where steep mountains, calm fjord waters, waterfalls, and traditional fruit orchards come together to create one of Norway’s most iconic landscapes.
Experience a ferry crossing across the Hardangerfjord and get a small glimpse into daily life in Norway. Together with locals and travelers, you’ll sail through a peaceful fjord landscape surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, and small villages along the shoreline. During the crossing, you can stay comfortably seated and enjoy the changing views through the windows, or step outside to take photos and enjoy the fresh fjord air. Many guests also like to relax with a coffee while quietly taking in the scenery as the ferry travels across one of Norway’s most beautiful fjord regions.
Enjoy a scenic hike to the glacier lake Bondhusvatnet, also known as Bondhus Lake, located in the beautiful Folgefonna National Park. The walk follows an easy gravel path with a gentle incline, surrounded by peaceful forests, rivers, and stunning Norwegian nature. As you continue through the valley, the landscape gradually opens up and reveals the famous glacier lake. Depending on the light and time of day, the water changes colour from deep blue to turquoise green, creating a truly special atmosphere. High above the mountains, you may also spot part of the Folgefonna glacier in the distance.
On the second ferry crossing, you’ll explore a different part of the Hardangerfjord with new views and landscapes along the way. Many guests enjoy sitting comfortably inside and watching the changing scenery through the windows, while others prefer to step outside for photos and fresh fjord air.
Additional photo stops along the route allow you to experience more of the real Norwegian countryside beyond the main attractions. While traveling through valleys, mountains, and fjord landscapes, the guide may make extra scenic stops depending on the weather, light conditions, and season to create the best possible experience and photo opportunities throughout the journey.

Excellent option for a one-day activity, the landscapes and the park are incredible, activity 100% recommended if you want to explore beyond fjords, hiking, or trains.
My partner and I went on this tour last week. It was incredible!! From the waterfalls, to the scenic drive, to the amazing views at Folgefonna National Park with the crystal clear lake and beautiful trees. It was like a fairytale. We had Dina as our tour guide and she made the experience so much more wonderful. Her facts about Norway and her funny stories made the whole trip unforgettable. She was always willing to share her knowledge and also take our picture. We could not have asked for a better guide. I would do every tour with her!! And George was our driver. He kept us safe and on time the whole journey! We cannot say enough great things about this whole experience. Would absolutely recommend this to everyone!!
We are 8 and 10 years old. The hike to the glacier lake was great there were many wild berry's that we could eat I loved going through the waterfall. We even got to walk very close to a massive waterfall and it felt like it was raining. and in conclusion Jan is one of the best tour guides we have ever had (and we have had some great ones).
Great experience, beautiful trip and hike. The waterfalls were amazing. It was rainy but we enjoyed the trip very much. Noah is a great guide.
The tour was excellent and highly recommended. Our tour guide, Noah, did a phenomenal job and shared depth of knowledge about each place we visited. Our driver, George, safely maneuvered us through the tricky roads. The provided much was excellent!
We actually booked this due to another tour being cancelled, but we should have booked this one in the first place! Our tour guide Noah did an amazing job providing knowledgeable and interesting information the entire way. He was personable and great to chat with on all the walks/short hike. The stops and views were all amazing, the glacial lake being our favorite. Lunch provided was a chicken wrap (vegan/vegetarian options too) and it was delicious. If your looking to travel out of the city this is a must do.
Swift efficient and prompt service. Toine our guides was very knowledgeable and humorous guide. While giving historical & pertinent facts he kept the conversation light & humorous
Perfect blend of guided and a bit of free-range — comfortable tour bus plus lovely, knowledgeable tour guide. Dinah was a delight with her thoughtful and interesting commentary on the Norwegian culture, history and informative insights. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Eugene our driver impressively handled the many tunnels, hairpin turns and hills with ease. The purchased lunch was high quality and delicious— I would recommend packing snacks and a drink, but we took advantage of the grocery stop while waiting for the ferry to stock up. Plenty of rest room stops and time to explore the waterfalls and views. The highlight was the spectacular glacial lake. The only thing that could have been better was if we had picked seats that reclined, haha! Be sure to not sit in the emergency exit aisle for that much-deserved nap on the drive back!
We did the tour on 2/7/26 with our guide Tuoine (hope i spelt it right) and driver George. Our guide was very engaging and enthusiastic and shared with us about the history, fun facts and stories abt the places we visited. Timing was also well paced and not rushed with ample time to visit the sights and also use the washroom. Lunch provided was delicious. The highlight was the short hike to the glacier lake. We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this tour!
This was THE highlight of my trip to Norway. Every detail, from the comfortable transportation and perfectly timed itinerary to the good food was organized so well. The scenery was simply spectacular, with waterfalls, fjords, mountain roads, glacier views, and charming villages that looked like postcards. Our guide was exceptional. His enthusiasm was contagious, and his storytelling skills and knowledge of all kinds of topics, from history and culture to nature and local life, were outstanding. Rather than simply describing facts, he brought every location to life with fascinating stories and a great sense of humor. Perhaps less noticeable to others, but something I really appreciated, was how he took the time to interact with everyone and was able to answer every question. The driver was equally friendly and made me feel safe throughout the day. This tour is much more than a sightseeing trip or a hike. It exceeded my expectations, and it felt like exploring Norway in a single day. If you are in Bergen and can only book one tour, or have limited time, make sure you join this one. I would happily do it again and recommend it to anyone.
