We offer two options for this tour—both include a visit to the Great Wall and a cuddly panda encounter at Beijing Panda House (no need to fly to Chengdu). Please choose based on your preference when booking: Option 1: Mutianyu Great Wall – Beloved for its well-preserved architecture, lush scenery, and fewer crowds, it’s ideal for soaking in the grandeur of this ancient wonder. Option 2: Badaling Great Wall – Enjoy exclusive VIP access (special shuttle bus and cable car) to skip all lines, ensuring a smoother, hassle-free experience.
Your English - speaking guide and private car will pick you up in the lobby of your hotel bright and early. Since pandas are most active in the morning, our first stop will be the Panda House located in the western part of the city. The giant panda is the rarest member of the bear family and is among the world's most endangered animals. Listed as endangered in the World Conservation Union's (IUCN's) Red List of Threatened Species, there are only about 1,600 giant pandas left in the world, and you'll have the wonderful opportunity to observe some of them here. After the panda visit, we'll head to a local restaurant for lunch, which will take around 40 minutes.
If you choose to visit Mutianyu Great Wall, we will then head to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours, and during the drive, your guide will share interesting stories about the Great Wall. Upon arrival, you will follow the guide to take either the cable car or ski lift up to the top of the wall. The guide will stay with you to explain the Great Wall’s history as you explore the watchtowers, and you will also have free time to take photos. For the descent, you can choose to take the cable car or ski lift again, or opt for the thrilling toboggan ride—please note that during peak seasons, the wait time for the toboggan may be over an hour. After the Great Wall visit, we will drive you back to your hotel.
If you choose to visit Badaling Great Wall, our exclusive VIP access ensures a hassle-free journey: a dedicated shuttle bus will take you directly to the cable car entrance, allowing you to skip all queues and head straight up to the Great Wall. The journey to Badaling takes approximately one and a half hours, and during the drive, your guide will share interesting stories related to the Great Wall. Upon reaching the wall, you will follow the guide to explore the watchtowers while learning about its rich history, and you will also have free time to take photos at your leisure. For the descent, you will take the cable car again (with no waiting in lines, thanks to our VIP service). After the visit, we will drive you back to your hotel.

She took me to numerous places like the Great Wall of China and the Panda Zoo, including local tea, jade and silk shops. Wonderful visit to the Great Wall and Panda House with an informative stop at an amazing tea house. Saw some playful pandas in the morning before heading for an introduction to the tea culture and some delicious teas. After an exhilarating ride up to the top of the Great Wall we learned about its history as we strolled between the towers. Topped off by a delicious lunch, throughout the trip Sherry shared lots of history and insight into China. On the way back Sherry was kind enough to help us reserve tickets for our next day’s sightseeing. All in all, a wonderful day enjoyed by young and old alike. Thank you Sherry.
We spent the day with May, and she was a fantastic guide. She was friendly, talkative, and spoke excellent English, making the tour both interesting and enjoyable. She shared a lot of information about the places we visited and was always happy to answer our questions. Everything was well organized, and we had a great time. Wow! What an incredible day that was only made so incredible because of our amazing tour guide Sherry and our driver. Due to a typhoon warning our plans had to change at the last minute due to closures. Sherry made sure we had the best day. She showed us parts of beijing we never would have seen otherwise. Lucia was my tour guide and she was truly such a gem of a human. She was super knowledgeable, attentive, and flexible with the full day tour. She knew how things move, and was able to recommend adjusting our schedule to make the most of the day. Plan to take the earliest possible time as it’s crucial to get to the Great Wall first thing in the morning, else queues will be too long. Perfect day, and Lucia also takes great photos. The tour was fantastic! We were picked up right on time from our hotel, and both the driver and our guide had thoughtfully prepared drinks and snacks for us in the car, which was a lovely touch. Everything was really well organised, and we enjoyed all of the activities. Optional add-on activities were suggested, but they weren’t pushed, which we appreciated. Sherry was a wonderful guide and even waited in line for the Mutianyu toboggan while we explored, which saved us a lot of time and meant we didn’t have to spend ages queuing. It made a big difference, especially during the summer heat. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Beijing.
Traveled with the family in late June. You need to be in pretty good physical condition for this tour as the terrain here is fairly steep. Cindy our guide was great in navigating us. The kids enjoyed the toboggan ride down the wall after the climb. The panda experience was sort of a miss because when we arrived only two of the pandas were available to be seen, the other ones were asleep. Since we were in a private group, we asked for the non-buffet lunch and Cindy brought us to a local restaurant to try traditional dishes to the area which I would highly recommend.
What an absolutely incredible day! Sherry was the perfect host—friendly, knowledgeable, and made every moment enjoyable. Seeing the pandas was unforgettable, and visiting the Great Wall was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were also treated to bonus stops at a traditional tea ceremony and a jade factory, which made the day even more special. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized. This was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly!
