Hotel pick-up at your downtown hotel lobby. We will then drive directly to the Mutianyu Great Wall, famous for its stunning natural scenery—lush forests and vibrant landscapes that transform beautifully with each season. Located in Huairou District, northeast of Beijing, this section is approximately 75 kilometers from the city center. As one of the best‑preserved and most picturesque sections of the Great Wall, Mutianyu historically served as a vital northern defensive barrier protecting the capital. You may take the cable car up to the wall. You can choose to hike along the wall to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views, or take the cable car down or Chairlift up and toboggan ride for a fun and memorable descent. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

This tour only provides hotel pick-up and drop-off services in the downtown city. This service does not apply to the "Meet at Regent Hotel and "Meet at Kempinski Hotel" option. If your hotel is not listed, please specify it in special requirements.

Highly organised via WhatsApp. Wonderful guide, ours was Maggie, who took great care of us and was fun and energetic. We met some great people on the trip which turned out to be quite physically challenging if you want to walk on the wall itself. A great way to see the Great Wall, take some snacks for the 90 minute bus journey.

We were picked up at our hotel on time, and got to the Great Wall in good time. We then met our guide Maggie who was very knowledgeable about the Great Wall. She guided us through the chairlift queue and then gave us lots of information about the Great Wall. It was a good day all round, and we were given free time to explore walking street. Maggje was very good.

I booked this as a private tour, and where do I even start with Bobo and her amazing service as my tour guide?! Firstly, she messaged me the evening before to confirm the time and pickup, and reminded me to bring my passport. From the moment the day started, Bobo was super communicative: explaining the history of the Great Wall, answering all of my questions, letting me know about timing and traffic conditions, and telling me what to expect once we arrived. When we got there it was incredibly busy, but having Bobo by my side, I just felt completely comfortable knowing how experienced she was. I could just tell. She helped me through the ticket office, the cable car and the queues, and once we were up there she explained so much history about the Wall. She walked me to both sides, gave me some free time to myself, and even guided me through eating, drinking, restrooms and purchasing souvenirs. On the way back to the hotel we had such an amazing conversation. I could not recommend Bobo highly enough to anybody. If you get her in a tour group, you are lucky. If you get her one on one in a private tour like I did, that will really make your day, and it is totally worth the investment. To Lilly and the tour group itself: you have a genuine diamond in Bobo, someone who goes above and beyond and really cares about what she does. That is a true rarity in this world, and the genuine passion she carries for her work is something I do not come across all that often in life. You are very lucky to have such a talented tour guide.
