Carla our guide who took us to the beach club was amazing, so lovely and very communicative to any needs. She took time to explain so many things. She made us feel very welcomed. I recommend this trip if you want a quiet beach experience. We later on went to Progresso beach but was much more alive if you want more of this experience. Thank you to Carla for making our day so perfect.
We just got back to our hotel. This was an amazing day! I doubt this will always be the standard, since I think this is a newer excursion, but we were picked up in Mérida and had our own driver in a small car. He was great!!! Then taken to the beach club. The pictures of this place on Viator don’t do it justice. Great pools and a nice beach. This was like something out of the Twilight Zone because for the first two hours there was no one at the pools. We saw one person on the beach walking . So basically, we had the whole place to ourself other than later in the day we saw two other couples. Three pools and the beach mostly to ourselves! We swam and collected shells. The only downside to that was there was no one to serve at the pool bar. But we went inside the hotel and for $25 US got a little foam cooler, some beer and some snacks. Cheapest beach club day ever! We also got a late lunch at the restaurant and it was really good. Also had the restaurant to ourselves. Don’t think about it! Do this trip if you’re in Mérida and loving the culture but missing the beach!
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. One adjustment we would make if we were to go back is to spend more time in Progresso, and make the beach club stay a little shorter. Gretchel was a wonderful guide!
