Children up to 12 years old are FREE (guide only). Please NOTE that children aged 9 and above require a separate museum entrance ticket. What makes this experience unique is the combination of private guiding, visual storytelling and personal attention. I use my tablet with carefully selected photos and short videos to help you see and understand details that are difficult to notice on your own. You will discover the fascinating stories behind the Medusa heads, the Weeping Column, ancient spolia, myths and legends of this extraordinary 1,500-year-old cistern. I will also share stories connected to the James Bond movie From Russia with Love and Inferno, filmed here, and point out the best photo spots. Surprise gifts for everyone! Some stories and interpretations surrounding the cistern are still debated and cannot be considered 100% historically proven — I will clearly distinguish history, theories, myths and legends.

Our private guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour and is designed to make your visit to the Basilica Cistern truly memorable. After meeting, we will enter the cistern together. As a licensed guide, I can provide priority access, helping us avoid the regular visitor line. During the tour, I will bring the history and legends of the cistern to life using tablet-based visuals and a professional sound system, helping you understand what you are seeing beyond the beautiful architecture. You will discover the fascinating stories of the Medusa heads, the Weeping Column and hidden details of this extraordinary underground monument. I will also show you the best photo spots and, whenever you like, I will be happy to take photos for you. This experience combines history, myths, visual storytelling and personal attention with your own private licensed guide.

The guide led us in line, very quickly, bought tickets, he had text general information in Russian about the Baslik Cistern. We know English and then he told us all the information in it. Showed a diagram of the tank and explained clearly where and what was. The cost of the service for two is very reasonable! Han was really fun and humorous yet still informative. I love that he used different mediums to explain different parts of the history. He is also an excellent photographer!!! There wasn't much of a crowd but it didn't feel super empty either. Overall the experience was great.
