Itinerary
Experience Bari like a local on our Street Food Tour, discovering authentic flavors and stories as you explore the city’s culinary gems with a local guide. Our tour starts from Piazza dell'Odegitria, inside Bari Vecchia, the city's historic centre. Your local expert will be waiting for you at the palms near the Cathedral's front door. Let's the tour begin!
As we pass near the Cathedral of San Sabino, we’ll enjoy our first tasting: focaccia barese, Bari’s most iconic street food. Freshly baked, crispy on the outside and soft inside, it’s topped with cherry tomatoes and olives and perfectly represents the city’s simple, flavorful cuisine.
Continuing through the historic streets and passing close to the Museo Civico di Bari, we’ll stop for a hot, freshly made panzerotto. Golden and bubbling, with a classic tomato and mozzarella filling, this beloved snack is a true symbol of Bari’s everyday food culture.
Strolling along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, we’ll savor an authentic octopus sandwich. Prepared according to local tradition, it offers a bold taste of the sea and reflects Bari’s strong connection to the Adriatic and its fishing heritage.
Near the Norman–Swabian Castle, we’ll conclude the tour with a delicious artisanal ice cream, the perfect refreshing treat to enjoy as we wander through the warm streets and bring our culinary journey through Bari to a sweet end.

This was an amazing day of tasting really great food. The focaccia and gelato was so tasty. Four stars for meet up as we arrived by taxi at location but was not the right place. No biggie we caught up with the tour. Lots if walking over stone pavers. Highly recommend! Nicholas was a great local guide and knew exactly the places to go and recommended.
Great experience with a local tour guide. Nicholas was great. He fed us very well We learned how to find the best gelato. It is a lot of walking over uneven stone surfaces but mostly flat. We we delayed in meeting up with the group as we couldn’t find the meeting point. Taxi dropped us at wrong location but caught up. Highly recommend
You end up eating alot and the most Amazing food! Our guide Nicholas was young and energetic taking us through small alleys of Bari Vecchia and also giving us some history! Nicholas provided us every item in our hands and made sure we are hydrated as well! He took us to eat the local food ehich might bot be touristy but still served fresh and tasty. The tour felt complete and we end our day either a delicious cup of Gelato! I would recommend this tour to all newbies like me who would like to try food like a local!
We had an amazing 3 hours tasting local specialities with Nicholas. He was informative about the food & drink but also the local history of the town. We finished full and happy with further recommendations to try. Thanks Nicholas.
Our guide was Nicolas, who is an experienced chef, food reviewer and an exellecent storyteller. Not only we ate some excellent food but we also learned how to spot a great foccacia, how the octopus is prepared and what are the red flags of any gelateria. We went on a street food tour but left with a better understanding of local food in general, as well as some recommendations of what to try next and where. Would recommend for anyone but especially to those who've just arrived in Bari and are looking for local Italian places to sample good quality food and have a nice time.
Very nice food. BIG portions, but manageable with the walking. Finishing with gelato is always a bonus.
Really enjoyable evening strolling, eating and listening to Enzo
Nicholas is an amazing guide, nit only did he take us to all the best places for delicious stewed food, but gave us a lit of information on the local history. He also was always caring for us, getting us water often ti hydrate, & getting us into shady spots whenever possible. We had such a wonderful food tour with Nicholas! He showed us around the beautiful old town of Bari and introduced us to some delicious local specialties along the way. Nicholas was a fantastic guide. friendly, fun, and full of interesting facts and stories about the city and its food culture.
Enzo was engaging knowledgeable and did a good job of explaining things during the tour. We took his tour on the first on the first day of our visit to Bari, and we can’t think of a better introduction to the city; each stop of the tour gave a different gastronomical experience; all of them were delicious.
