I couldn't have asked for a better Tour Guide. George really knows his stuff and makes you feel like hes known you for years. His knowledge of the history and the geography of St Johns is amazing.... Peppered with lots of fun stories.. I would not hesitate to recommend George's Tours for an excellent indepth look at St Johns. I would also do it again in the future. Thanks to George!! Had a fabulous time with George. What a gem, such a nice gentleman and very knowledgeable about the area. Wonderful, fresh cod lunch as well. We really enjoyed learning and covering so much of the local sights. A great way to spend a day in St John’s. Highly recommend George as a tour guide!
Small group, personalized tour. I feel like we learned and experienced more of the Newfoundland way of life than we would have on any other experience. We had delicious, local view with a stunning view, good conversation. Feel like I have a new friend in Newfoundland.
We had a great and informative time with George and would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see a lot of the area around St. John's. If you are a Hudson and Rex fan, George can arrange a tour for you.
George’s 4 hour tour of St John’s and surrounding area was the highlight of our tour of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. His knowledge and ability to pass on same is second to none. We enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend this tour very much.
George and David the two guides for our two vans were equally fabulous. I had misunderstood and thought George was a host for the come from away people or the plain people, but he was actually an actor in the play come from away. It did not matter, cause he was a true Newfoundlander, and let us on an exciting, beautiful, and enthusiastic Tours. David, the driver and Tours in the other van with us, was a retired professor who specialized in Newfoundland history. He is a fifth generation Newfoundlander. Both had wonderful stories to tell. A huge Plus was a stop to eat at a restaurant that served fresh cod, ours caught today. I highly recommend this trip book early, as it fills up quickly.
I really had no expectations. George is a ton of fun! Loved the history, tidbits of extra info throughout. Food was amazing.
George is an amazing person and does his very best that you pass a wonderful day. It was an unique experience. I would definitely recommend this tour. I did the coastal tour with Deneen - a really inspiring person - as well. Nature was just stunning and we passed a lovely day. Thanks George and Deneen and all the best. Hope to see you once again. :)
An Amazing Day with George! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kate and I had such a great day with George and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met him, it was obvious how passionate he is about Newfoundland. His knowledge of the history, the people, and the stories behind the places we visited was exceptional, and his enthusiasm made the entire day so much more enjoyable. George has a unique connection to the Come From Away story, and hearing him share those stories and his knowledge of the area made everything we saw feel much more meaningful. Cape Spear, Petty Harbour, Signal Hill and the beautiful coastal communities were all amazing, but it was George’s stories and personality that really made the day memorable. He was incredibly friendly, easygoing and never made us feel rushed. We were able to ask questions, take our time, enjoy the scenery and get some great recommendations for the rest of our time in St. John’s. It genuinely felt more like spending the day with a local friend than being on a tour. And the fish & chips at By the Beach… WOW! Without a doubt, some of the best fish & chips we had on the Rock! It was the perfect ending to an incredible day. Kate and I will honestly look back on this as one of the highlights of our trip to Newfoundland. If you’re visiting St. John’s, do yourself a favour and book this tour with George. You’ll see the sights, learn some incredible stories, eat great food, and most importantly, have a fantastic day with a genuinely great guy. Thanks again, George — we truly enjoyed every minute of it!
This was a wonderful tour! George is a great guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about St John’s and the beautiful spots on the tour. Not to mention great to chat to about theatre! I was only in St. John’s for a day, and this was a wonderful way to see a lot of gorgeous places around the area.
