I give 2 stars, because service is an essential part of the overall experience for me. The food was delicious and the cruise itself was beautiful, but the way we were treated unfortunately ruined the experience quite badly. I booked this reservation for a friend who had her birthday that day, so it should have been a festive and special afternoon. After the reservation I received a QR code and asked if I had to show it before boarding. I was then told that this was not necessary and that we could just sit down. That is precisely why I found it bizarre that after about 45 to 50 minutes of sailing we were still asked if we were on the right boat. Our reservation turned out to be just right. If the QR code or reservation had simply been requested upon boarding, this awkward situation could have been completely avoided. In addition, the service was downright disappointing. The hostess stayed with the skipper for about 30 minutes at one point, without inquiring in the meantime whether guests needed to be provided with anything. Also the approach towards us gave the feeling as if we did not belong on the boat, while our reservation was just fine. Because it was a birthday, I find that extra resentful. A nice cruise and good food are nice, but in the end you mainly remember what an experience feels like and how you are treated. And that is precisely where this organization has failed in my opinion.
Had a fantastic afternoon! Delicious snacks and drinks, friendly skipper and host. Highly recommended, even if Amsterdammer;-)
The captain and hostess were so kind. Absolutely beautiful canal ride. I did this experience solo but would highly come again with friends or family.
On February 22 I did the high tea cruise with two friends and I would really recommend this to everyone. Despite having lived in Amsterdam for five years myself, I learned a lot of new things about the city during this trip. The skipper told fun stories and facts about the buildings and the surroundings, with a down-to-earth, typically Dutch humor that made it extra fun to listen to. The atmosphere on board was very relaxed. It was a nice combination of catching up with my friends and listening to the stories of the skipper in between. The two waitresses were also very friendly and attentive; they kept a close eye on whether your tea needed to be refilled and made sure everything went smoothly. The high tea itself was also well taken care of and more than adequate. All in all a really complete and relaxing afternoon on the water. If I have to mention one small point: the prosecco we ordered in advance was not immediately ready on arrival. Fortunately, that was fixed neatly later, so it did little to detract from the experience. It was absolutely worth the money and I would do this again. Unfortunately, we didn't have any cash on us, because this crew really deserves a nice tip. That is why I am writing this review – well deserved.
The truth is, it was disappointing. I have attended several High Teas in England, South Africa, Germany and now I wanted to try in Amsterdam because my partner had never tried one. The photos for the instagram were fantastic but the quality of the food was dire. The Scones were hard as stones and of poor quality (bought in bags of 10 in a supermarket), the tea would go cold as soon as it was horrendous cold. According to the waitress it was because they had had a problem with the heating. That day in Amsterdam we were 6 degrees. I am sorry but eating cold and also with a quality that does not reach the average seems very bad. I don't recommend it.
Great and unique to do a high tea on a beautiful saloon boat! The high tea itself was delicious with both savoury and sweet delicacies, we enjoyed it! The service very friendly and the skipper very experienced! We fell with our noses in the butter, because we had the opportunity to sail a bit with the SAIL OUT. The canals are already beautiful, but this was really fantastic! The skipper has manoeuvred us very skilfully between thousands of other boats, boats and ships and you could see how well he could sail, because that was really not easy. All in all a great, delicious and magical experience!
I was really unwell for this experience so unfortunately couldn't enjoy the wonderful treats, however my friend enjoyed them. The tea was unlimited and we were offered bubbly. The host and captain were so friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely take this experience again.
One of the favorite things we did in Amsterdam. Captain was very friendly, personable, and food was fabulous.
The food was scrumptious but we were hoping for some history of the netherlands. Our waitress asked what we'd like to see and we said everything, but then nothing was explained to us. The boat was nice but we had to look through the plastic part of the windows which made it hard to see things clearly and we couldn't get any good pictures.
Together with my granddaughter had a wonderful afternoon. Great high tea. Cruise through Amsterdam with explanation. A 10 for high tea and a 10 for the crew.
