We visited the Dutch Masters at the Fabrique des Lumières as part of our Uniworld River cruise. This amazing light show brings more than 325 works of art by more than 50 painters to life around you. Its a well worth experience.
We found that the artists' pictures (where are the women?) gained from the staging (contemporary music, visual implementation of artistic development and life situations) - we old boomers have never experienced anything like that... we found the prehistoric show less convincing, but we are probably not really the target group for that.
During our visit to Amsterdam we also went to Fabrique des Lumières. From the center, this location is very easily accessible by both tram and bus, which is a big plus. For people who are not immediately a fan of traditional museums, this is highly recommended. Instead of looking at paintings on a wall, you are completely immersed in an impressive combination of projections, lasers and music. The most famous paintings come to life in a spectacular way on the walls, floor and ceilings. The sound and light show provides a unique experience that is both relaxing and impressive. You don't have to be an art expert to enjoy this. An original and accessible way to discover art. Definitely worth a visit! 🎨
I don't believe it was worth the price of admission, it was an experience though but one I wouldn't have really missed out on anything if u didn't go
First, there was no guide no explanation, no good seats, we expected a VR performance, so more 3D, but without VR glasses, so it seemed on the website Far too expensive for such a regular movie projection I like it for small children and not for older children or adults, but of course not those scary dinosaurs, but with beautiful birds or something Me and my oldest son of 15 thought it was a waste of the long journey and the money
Fantastic, a must see attraction when you travel Amsterdam. When the show starts, you become part of it, you are in the master piece. The experience is fantastic, the art is moving with in the hall.
Spectacular experience I had with my husband
It was stunning! Best way to see all the Dutch artists work without having to pay to go to the museums. Loved how immersive it was. We would definitely do it again.
The staging brings a lot of poetry to the projection of the paintings, another way of seeing the works. The different places allow to see from different angles this dive into the heart of the art.
Awful experience! We had just been to the Van Gogh Museum and the Reiksmuseum and seen the real thing. This “show” bastardized those masterpieces by chopping them up, making parts move and it served no redeeming purpose. not educAtional or insightful, just awful!
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the experience did not meet your expectations. At Fabrique des Lumières, we aim to present artworks in an immersive way while respecting their original context and spirit. Our goal is to offer a different perspective on these masterpieces, complementing rather than replacing the experience of seeing the originals in museums. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
