It was amazing! Ron was such an amazing guide, very cool fun facts and lighthearted but also very interesting history lesson. would 100% recommend
The bikes are well maintained and easy to use. The safety briefings and welcome were excellent. We had 4 stops where there was an informative chat from Bas who was friendly & knowledgeable. I felt safe and at ease on the tour despite Amsterdam being rather busy with bikes everywhere. The other local cyclists, seeing that we were in a big group, gave us plenty of space. There were 14 people on our tour which was too many. The differences in confidence and pace quickly showed up with the group becoming fragmented & split up. We stayed at the back to ‘herd’ the group and at one point we visually lost the front six people. We think 8 maximum would be a better group to control and I feel we could then have done a few more stops and learnt more. The tour felt more like an exercise in safely getting 14 people around the route rather than a personalised tour where we learnt about the city. For that reason I have given a lower score.
We went with Greg - he put in a lot of effort, drove at a pleasant pace, and explained a lot. All in all, a top tour.
Jan was so very helpful! I took an embarrassingly slow fall and Jan congratulated me, saying that getting caught on the curb is a rite of passage to being an Amsterdam local. Overall, this was a lovely experience that I would recommend to anyone not afraid of curbs!
