The trip you pay for is basically a shuttle service. Only the trip is paid for. If you want a guided tour that is extra and you also pay for the entry ticket. So all in all it adds up! That said, the driver was pleasant and the guide very good. You can also do the exploring on your own or with an audio guide. Well organized and a fantastic experience to see the temples.
Easy and smooth travel day. On time transportation. Used just for transportation to Valley of the Temples and Turkish Steps from Palermo. Tickets to Valley of the Temples were purchased separately
Most interesting - it was invaluable to have a guide
Excellent day trip. The van driver was safe and never in a rush. The temperature in the van and the seats were perfect. It was a comfortable ride and once we arrived, we had plenty of time to explore the temple of kings.
Overall, very average experience. I suppose you get what you pay for considering the price (it is quite cheap for transport). But you are kind of loaded into cars without any welcome or acknowledgement by the drivers and then on the way to the valley - there is no conversation or guide from the driver. You do have to pay $30 euro for an in person guide when you are at the valley (which is quite steep considering you are there for less than two hours) - you also need to pay $17 euro at the entrance which is understandable considering the low price of the tour. You are then taken to a view point to look at the Turkish steps but given no time to actually go down there and walk on them. Overall, had a really disappointing experience with the drivers. It is worth it if you are desperate to see the temples but just lower your expectations about the travel to/from.
Our experience visiting Taormina was very interesting and easy going. The pick up point was in front of the famous theatre in Palermo so it was very easy to find it and drivers were very friendly and helpfull in manadging our questions. It really is only a shuttle bus to Agrigento and Scala dei Turchi, but our driver Baco made that 2 h long drive to and back through bussy and fast Italian traffic very much worth the price. During the trip we stopped for a cup of coffe which was very nice around half way into the trip and back. When we arrived at Agrigento, we picked up our tour guide which explained to us the prices and possibilities. Every one in our group took the tour with her and it was 30€ each, payed to her in cash. Tickets could have been bought online or in our case on the site. The tour was very interesting, guid was very knowledgable about temples and was ready to answer our questions. The tour itself lasted about an hour and a half ant wasn't difficult but the sun in the open plain drains you quickly. Usefull tip: if you are traveling with young people by the age 26 they pay half the price, and also if you are a teaher and present a teachers card you have an entrance for free. On our way back we stopped half an hour on a sighting point to take pictures from Scala dei Turchi and headed back. Overall amazing trip and i highly recommand it
This trip is basically a transfer and collection to the Valley of Temples. A stop to buy food. The visit to the beach is not to the beach but a lay-by so you can look at it. At the valley of the temples you have to buy a ticket and can wander around by yourself and read the info or pay for a guide. The guide that they uses takes cash only, €30 each, plus the €14 ticket price. There was only the Valley of the temples which was very good and stop to look at beach, the description appears to be have more. It is a long transfer and we had a coach with poor air con.
Loved the experience… most complete Greek temp,e but three others as well. It’s a long trip but we had great company
Was a nice trip, drivers were good and allowed for some nice rest breaks on the way.
The Valley of Temples was amazing, but the drive from Palermo was excruciatingly long. Be prepared for a long day.
