Afternoon Lighthouse Cruise Along the Coast of Portland Maine

Itinerary

Pass by

See the gorgeous skyline of Portland, Maine's largest city which was established in 1786. Observe Portland's working waterfront as fishing boats depart and return to the wharves that form the heart of Portland and are home to local businesses that have been passed down for generations.

Pass by

Count the many islands of Casco Bay while gliding through its cool, clear waters. With a history that dates back to 1678, Casco Bay has so much to see.

Pass by

View Bug Light Park's historic 1875 lighthouse within the inner harbor of Portland. With its intricate detailing and beautiful exterior, it is not one to miss!

Pass by

Pass by Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse. This lighthouse helps guide commercial marine traffic through Portland's busy shipping channel.

Pass by

Take in the stunning sight of Maine's oldest lighthouse atop the rocky shore. Portland Head Light was commissioned by George Washington and built in 1791.

Nice small group charter.

The captain and his deck hand were very knowledgeable and personable. We also had coverage from the light rain showers which was nice.

Nice trip around the bay...

Captain had excellent boating skills to avoid the big waves and kept rocking to a minimum. I wish there was a speaker system on boat because only those sitting near the person telling about the different sites could hear. Overall an excellent adventure.

Portland Harbor & lighthouse tour

We had a great experience! Afternoon Lighthouse harbor tour. Everything was relaxed & simple. It is a small boat and there were only 7 passengers. Captain Megan & guide Carson(?) very friendly & approachable & the boat dog Nonni the Frenchie topped it off! Very enjoyable!

Failed attempt

This booking is unreliable. The engine wouldn’t start… the two crew members called the owner after a check and it still wouldn’t start. Who wants to go on a crewed boat who can’t trouble shoot a failed engine?

Operator response

Hi Charles, we are extremely sorry this happened, and we immediately issued you a full refund when it did. Our skilled mechanics on staff were able to troubleshoot the issue not long after you left, and we operated the rest of our trips for the day. We can't control when a small mechanical issue arises, but we always do our best to fix it as soon as possible.

Nice tour

On a recent visit to Portland, another tour company canceled on us and we were fortunate to get a tour with Portland Schooner. The pickup is on the downtown piers so it's very convenient. It's a small boat so the group size was very nice. The captain and mate were both great. After the appropriate briefings, we made our way out of the harbor and visited several lighthouses. While this isn't a narrated tour, the crew gave us a good commentary on what we saw and made sure we all got good pics. This cruise was very enjoyable.
