If you have decided to visit Sri Lanka you are already onto a winner. Everyone we met appeared genuine, helpful and friendly. The splendour of Sri Lanka tour by Beauty LankaTravels offers a fairly comprehensive mix of sites and cultural experiences, at a budget friendly price point. It is an excellent first introduction to Sri Lanka. Tourism is a major GDP/economic driver in Sri Lanka and the government has invested in the industry, training and certifying tour guides and businesses, ensuring tourists are provided high quality experiences that promote the country further. For example the spice and herbal garden with ayurvedic demos, the gem market and the tea factory on the tour were all government certified, ensuring quality experiences that weren’t accompanied by the high pressure sales tactics that are often experienced during such excursions. Our guide Kanishka (a Govt. certified guide) was outstanding, he was passionate about sharing the history and culture of Sri Lanka and the significance of the sites visited. Nothing was too much trouble, be that requests to change the itinerary or having to continually answer questions ranging far beyond the tour. As both our driver and guide Kanisha proved exemplary, he communicated plans clearly, was punctual, respectful and demonstrated great humour, as well as proving to be a calm hand at the wheel. He remained flexible and adaptable responding to our changing plans by making suggestions for activities not on the itinerary and accommodated last minute requests to sample local cuisine or stop at businesses on route. Having read several reviews regarding the tour I surmised that the accommodation would likely be underwhelming, so I would have liked to have upgraded as I have done on several other tours. Having booked via a host site I did not receive any details regarding the accommodation until late or get any opportunity to upgrade. To be fair to Beauty Lanka Travels and their selection of stays, these locations were rated highly on Tripadvisor and other sites, but they fell short of what I would like, expect (and be prepared to pay more for). Near to the start of the tour, I requested a breakdown of the entrance fees and itinerary from Beauty Lanka Travels so that I wouldn’t be caught short, as Sri Lankans still prefer to operate on cash rather than card. I cannot fault the promptness nor the completeness of their response. Given how efficient their communication had been, my only regret is that I hadn’t contacted the team directly to arrange for an upgrade to the accommodation as I am sure they could have provided a list of 4 and 5 star options for me to choose from making it a perfect trip.
This was a great trip from start to finish The country is incredibly beautiful and the people very welcoming Anjana was a great guide He has the perfect personality for this His enthusiasm and energy were contagious The communication through the itinerary and booking process was excellent and greatly appreciated It continued throughout the trip Highly recommended without hesitation
Gayan was our driver and guide throughout our Sri Lanka trip, and he was fantastic. He was reliable, always on time, and drove safely and responsibly the entire journey. Beyond driving, he was also a great guide — knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely helpful in making our trip enjoyable. He made us feel comfortable and well taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend Gayan to anyone touring with him!
Our driver Chamika was an excellent guide and was a very safe driver. We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 14) and we had a wonderful tour. The hotels that were chosen were very good and provided an interesting variety. I would recommend Chamika as a driver as he was reliable and always open to answer our questions about Sri Lanka and was very knowledgeable.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, or tour guide, for our 6-day tour of Sri Lanka! From the moment we met Amila, he was friendly, professional, and genuinely passionate about sharing his beautiful country with us. His knowledge of Sri Lanka’s history, culture, wildlife, and local traditions was outstanding, and he made recommendations that made the trip even more meaningful. He was also an excellent driver—we felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the entire trip, even on the busy and winding roads. What made the experience truly special was how much effort he put into helping us experience the real Sri Lanka. For example, he stopped at local roadside stalls so we could try fresh Sri Lankan fruits and other authentic treats, introducing us to flavours and experiences we would never have found on our own. These thoughtful touches made our trip so much more memorable and gave us a genuine appreciation for the local culture and food. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he always made sure we were comfortable, enjoying ourselves, and getting the most out of every day. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, safe, reliable, and genuinely caring guide, we can’t recommend Amila highly enough. Thank you for giving us such an amazing introduction to Sri Lanka—we’ll treasure the memories for years to come and will be back!
I recently completed the 8-day tour of Sri Lanka with Beauty Lanka Travels as a solo traveller, and it was one of the best travel experiences I've had. From the moment I arrived, everything was organised perfectly, and I felt safe, relaxed, and well looked after throughout the trip. My guide and driver, Kanishka , was amazing. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, and he went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed every part of my holiday. As a solo traveller, I really appreciated that he happily took lots of photos for me, meaning I have some wonderful memories to look back on. He also helped with my luggage at every hotel and was always happy to accommodate any requests, whether it was stopping for a toilet break, grabbing a drink, or making small changes to the day's schedule to suit my interests. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The itinerary was a good mix of culture, wildlife, stunning scenery, and local experiences, and the hotels were all comfortable and well chosen. Thanks to Kanishka's local knowledge and kindness, I got to experience Sri Lanka in a way that felt authentic and personal. I would highly recommend Beauty Lanka Travels to anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka, especially if you're travelling solo. Their excellent organisation, flexibility, and genuine hospitality made my holiday truly unforgettable. A special thank you to Kanishka for making my trip so enjoyable, I wouldn't hesitate to travel with Beauty Lanka Travels again.
We stayed in a cottage in Savoie, in BISSY to be exact. Reserved by an acquaintance directly; otherwise, you can find it listed as Gîte de France. There is a breathtaking view of all the mountains surrounding Chambéry, in a peaceful setting. COTTAGE "LA BATAILLARDE" Rue de la Bataillarde 73000 BISSY There are 6 sleeping arrangements (3 bedrooms) including 2 bathrooms. Super well-equipped. And we are warmly welcomed by the owners, so I recommend it.
What I booked was an English-speaking group tour. What I got was a solo trip with a guide who spoke so little English that most of the trip was in silence. There was no real guiding beyond taking me down the list of activities, providing only the most minimal of information. If I asked a question the guide would just nod and laugh, and I eventually gave up. I felt unprepared for some activities, and things that are usually quite simple (like getting access to an ATM) were much harder than they needed to be. At one point the guide told me I needed to pay 'right now' for the first evenings hotel, and since he did not provide this information when I was literally at the ATM earlier, I provided US dollars. I was informed I would receive change, but I never did. I checked out of the provided hotel for the last two nights and upgraded myself. These last two days without the guide were great. Not only was I free of awkward silences, but I met other travelers, finally learned about Sri Lankan foods, booked my own excursions, and shopped at local stores. Had I known I was simply paying for a driver rather than a guide, I would have done this the entire time. The driver was probably a nice enough human, but due to the language barrier I suppose I'll never know. Sri Lanka is beautiful, but if you are solo traveling you might want to verify your guide speaks your language, or that the group tour you booked is actually a group.
Sri Lanka is a beautiful island nation known for its stunning beaches, lush tea plantations, ancient temples, wildlife, and warm hospitality. From the historic rock fortress of Sigiriya to the scenic train journey through Ella and the charming streets of Galle Fort, the country offers a wonderful mix of nature, culture, and history. Pros: Beautiful beaches and landscapes Friendly people and rich culture Delicious food Affordable compared to many international destinations Excellent wildlife and nature experiences Things to keep in mind: Weather can vary by region and season Traffic can be slow in some areas Popular tourist spots can get crowded during peak seasons Overall, Sri Lanka is an excellent destination for families, couples, and nature lovers, offering great value and memorable experiences. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The travel agent booked us in a horrible hotel in Hikkaduwa (Hotel Cinnamon Hikkaduwa Tranz) even though I asked for a luxury hotel. We saw how bad the rooms were and asked to leave as soon as we checked in. The bed were dirty, blood stains on the cover, the toilet did not flush, the shower was dirty and shower door did not close. The agent was very rude (hung up on me twice) and said that I have no choice but to stay at the hotel. The agent refused to reimburse me the 2 nights hotel stay even though we did not stay for more than 10 min. I had to find an alternate hotel by myself and she refused to help. I would not recommend to use this agency as they make you stay in hotels that are mediocre and charge a premium for it.
