Fantastic Chitwan Experience!
In early May 2026 we visited Chitwan, staying at the Safari Adventure Lodge, as part of the 3 night/4 day tour which includes the Jungle Tower stay. It was a fantastic experience, especially the Tower night! Our guide from the hotel, Krishna, was terrific, very knowledgeable and a long-time local resident who really knows the local culture and environment. Also very warm and personable. The hotel was very comfortable, (we stayed in the main hotel itself, not the bungalows) the food was great and so were the staff. One problem with our room was that it had an old air conditioner that was too musty/dirty to use, but that didn't seem to be typical after viewing some of the other rooms and accommodation options. At least the ceiling fan worked.
The Tower is a community asset and we were lucky enough to be the only group there on the night (just the 4 of us including guide and security person). We were amazed how comfortable the rooms were, with good beds and mosquito nets. Rhinos, wild boar, plenty of deer and a determined sloth bear (who wanted to join us but was securely locked out) made for a great experience.
We had booked an extra night and did a guided walk through the park on the extra day with Krishna and another guide. Definitely worth doing, and breakfast on a viewing platform while watching a rhino mother and calf was definitely memorable! Plenty of great birdlife although, sadly, we didn't see tigers. Birdlife was definitely a highlight throughout our stay.
It's also worth going to the elephant centre despite some reviewers criticising it. The elephants do actually get plenty of time out of their enclosures to roam and feed and they are used to help with conservation monitoring/research in the park. Lobbying by Westerners to remove barriers and fencing led to a disaster with a raid by a wild bull elephant that caused a lot of problems, including elephants escaping, so having fixed ideas and imposing them in these situations is not helpful. Keep an open mind.
Welcome Nepal Treks (the tour provider) organised the extra night for us but it may be cheaper to do that directly with the hotel. Great experience and highly recommended.

Great one-horn rhino sighting park
Good experience. The local guide from the lodge was knowledgeable. Dipendra was a great logistic operator, making the trip smooth.

Well organized and exciting
The stay was in small bungalows with private toilet.
There was buffet for all meals that were included in the price.
All transportation was well organized, starting with taxi at the pokhara hotel, until I was at the resort.
What suited me was that you could book the trip home to a hotel in Kathmandu.
The biggest experiences were overnight stays in the night tower and jeep safari.
So tigers at both occasions

Chitwan tiger visit
Everything went perfect. Was picked up at hotel on time and driven to the bus. A long bumpy traffic-slowed journey but eventually got to the hotel for lunch. Immediately went for a jungle walk and then to a tower stay to stay overnight. Saw rhino with baby. After dark we saw a tiger 3 times, 20m away, just inside the forest. The guide shone his flashlight so we could see the tiger moving slowly. Also saw a civet cat. Lots of noises all night. Rhinos fighting? The next day at the hotel everyone was amazed that we had seen a tiger. I guess not many people see a tiger.
Went on a dugout canoe down the river with lots of crocodiles on the shore. The guides and drivers were excellent. The food was good. The pool was good. The room was spacious and comfortable. Hot shower and wifi. On the jeep safari we saw hundreds of rhinos, wild boars, monkeys. Many assorted birds. Overall the trip was filled with activities and was well worth the money. I decided to fly back to avoid the 7 hour bus ride. I was taken to the hotel to the airport and then taken back to my hotel after the flight. Everything worked out well

Tower stay a must
Absolutely amazing trip to the jungle in chitwan. Easy pick up in kathmandu. Food was lovely and timing of meals flexible to accomodate the various activities
The jungle tower stay was a must do , we were able to see rhinos within meters of the tower as well as monkeys and crocodiles
The only annoyance was we had to leave our room in the hotel for the tower stay so had to pack everything up but our new room was waiting as soon as we got back
The guides were knowledgeable
Would recommend

Great trip
A well-organized tour all round, you don't have to worry about a thing. The hotel was great, clean rooms, friendly staff, good food, and a pool to cool off in. The tour guide was very attentive and enthusiastic and spoke good English. The travel time was supposedly not ideal due to the tall grass, but we still saw some rhinos, deer, crocodiles, and civet cats, among other things. The highlight was Tower Night. A visit to the elephant training center was optional. We've got a taste for it now, so next time we'll take a longer tour in the winter months!

Great off peak season time in green Chitwan
Even off season it was beautiful! I personally prefer seeing nature lush and green and the bonus was i was alone in the hotel, no jeeps lining up behind you! I had the tower to myself, few rhinos and a civet came over and probably many more animals but went to sleep hehe! In total i saw at least 13 rhinos, i saw all the deer species, plenty of birds, tigers , leopards and sloth bears however impossible to see in the tall grass but it was fine! Dipendra from Welcome Nepal Treks was in contact with me constantly was taken to the tourist bus stops for the transfers! Booked two safaris , the first one individual was great and we took our time but the second one was shared and a bit rushed but its like that when theres many people. The hotel was ar the edge of the forest with sounds of nature and the pool was so refreshing in the hot weather, food was delicious too in the hotel! Definitely recommend

Great safari. Lovely guides. Good hotel.
We loved the safari - it’s a very low key unspoilt national park. The guides are all lovely and want you to have the best time. It’s not teeming with animals but it’s beautiful and peaceful. We were lucky - we saw 2 rhinos v close which was incredible. Loved the canoe ride, bird walks and jeep safari. We did the forest tower which was great fun tho we saw no animals as it started raining. Hotel is good - quite old style but v comfortable, v clean and v good buffet food. Overall a fabulous 4 day trip from katmandu.

The Tower night is a must
The safari lodge had delicious food ( veg & non veg). The rooms were good we enjoyed the pool. The highlight of the trip was definitely the tower night were we saw lots of animals including 2 rhinos who stayed within sight all night. The canoe trip we saw crocodiles and again on the jeep safari we were lucky to see a few rhinos up close. Sigar our guide was great and we managed to see a wild. Bull elephant on the last day. I can totally recommend this trip. So many fun memories.
