Our three-day Masai Mara Flying Safari and Hot Air Balloon package met—and exceeded—our expectations! Not wanting to spend so much of our limited time on the long drive to and from the Masai Mara, we chose the flying safari, and we were very glad we did. Everything was handled efficiently from start to finish. We were met at the airstrip and almost immediately headed out on our first game drive, making the most of every minute we had. The wildlife viewing was incredible. We saw an amazing number and variety of animals, including four of the Big Five—the only one we missed was the rhinoceros. Our driver and Masai Mara tracker/guide did a fantastic job of finding wildlife and getting us up close to some amazing animal activity and photographs. There were so many memorable moments! The highlight was the early-morning hot air balloon ride—absolutely fantastic! Seeing the Masai Mara and the Great Migration from the air was an unforgettable experience, followed by a wonderful bush breakfast. The accommodations were excellent, the game drives were terrific, and the entire three-day experience ran very smoothly. One word of warning: the roads in and around the national park are VERY rough, so expect a bumpy ride—it’s definitely part of the safari experience! I highly recommend this package, particularly if your time is limited. Flying in and out allowed us to spend our time doing what we came for—experiencing the Masai Mara rather than getting there. And the hot air balloon ride was truly the icing on the cake!
