It starts at the Bay of Pigs Monument, where the stories of the 1960s Cuban migration set the scene. From there, the neighbourhood unfolds: colourful Rooster sculptures, the José Martí Memorial, the Map of Cuba, and Domino Park, where Celia Cruz and Gloria Estefan have their place on the Walk of Fame. Then the food takes over. Fresh Guarapo juice at a neighbourhood fruteria, flaky guava pastelitos and ham croquetas from a family-run bakery, a punchy Cuban coffee, crispy mariquitas, and a perfectly pressed Cuban sandwich. This walking tour takes you through a humble but evolving neighborhood, boasting a kaleidoscope of culture, traditional customs, and vivid colors. Walk down Memorial Boulevard to learn where the history begins, visit local mom and pop establishments like a fruit marketplace, bakery, apparel store (guayaberas) and cigar shop. While no food is offered on this tour you will sample freshly brewed Cuban coffee. Your tour guide will answer any questions about the history, the people, and the politics. You will introduced to Cuban exiles and the second generation who run the mom-and-pop shops. Finally, you'll have the distinct honor of meeting and talking with survivors of Bay of Pigs battle, as they will share their insight and stories of factual accounts.

Our tour guide, Cesar, was amazing! He was deeply knowledgeable about Cuba, telling us the history all the way back to the 19th century. All the places from food to cigars to ice cream were fantastic. It was amazing to hear Cesar’s experience immigrating from Cuba and to where he is today.

Our 2 hour Express Tour of Little Havana was the highlight of our trip to Miami. This vibrant neighborhood, full of history and Cuban culture was brought to life by our tour guide, Cesar. Cesar was fantastic! He started the tour by telling us the history of Cuba and the struggles his people. He shared his personal story of leaving Cuba at 19 to make a better life for himself in the United States. He is an amazing man. We then walked the main street of Little Havana and stopped in several shops to sample baked goods, coffee, sugar cane water and ice cream. We went to a cigar shop and watched a woman roll a cigar. We went to the famous Ball and Chain restaurant and bar to see the original interior. Along the way we'd encounter locals who Cesar knew and we'd learn about their stories. This tour with Cesar is a must while in Miami!

Our guide, Kayan, was absolutely perfect. He's informative and funny. We can tell he has done tons of reseach and actually know what he's talking about. He definitely made this tour a wonderful experience. We've been on tasting tours before. The tasting sample is normally the tiniest amout but not on this one. More than expected considering it's just a "sample". The quality of these tastings did not disappoint either. Delicious!
