My husband and I did the Xoximilco boat tour on July 22nd and we were on the Hotel Xcaret Mexico boat. Lots of FREE (well not really it was paid for in the price) beverages and beer. Our host was very friendly but my only complaint was he spoke mostly in Spanish the entire ride. He would only come down to translate in English to us for us to participate in games or to let us know when the food arrived, but other than that the entire ride was him speaking in Spanish. While those that understood had a night of laughter (I guess he was really funny) but we did not understand anything and wanted to be included in the laughter as well. My spanish is very basic so I did not understand anything. Other than that we tried to make the best of it. The food was good and hot. Even had fried crickets as an appetizer (we did not eat though). The tour was very long (around 4 hrs). The live entertainment was fun with lots of dancing. It was a good experience but we would not do it again due to the lack of translation.
