The Wizard tour was perfect. We took our grandson aged 9 - he loved it and we did too. His mixture of comedy, jokes and tricks was excellent and he relates so well to children. The tour involves visiting some quirky corners of York but I can’t say we learnt a lot of history but who cares? We had a ball!
I went on this tour with my two grandyaged 7 and 8. We had the best time from the start. Our guide was brilliant, very funny and engaging. The kids were laughing the whole time, they just loved it. I thought it was pitched just right for the age groups and was just the right length of time. Excellent!

My 11 year old couldn't stop laughing throughout this silly, wonderful, and hilarious tour of York. This particular wizard was a fan of puns, and even though I am not someone who generally likes them, I still found him endearing and funny. Definitely had jokes in there for the adults as well as the littl'uns. Great interaction with the children who were engaged throughout. The younger children in the crowd were equally charmed. Highly recommend!
Brilliant from start to finish, kept the kids engaged and entertained throughout! Anyone who can keep them occupied and walking for over an hour must be magic! If you’re visiting York with kids you must do this tour!
Really good fun. I was a bit worried my daughter (5) might struggle to stay engaged, but the Wizard kept the children engaged throughout and she had a fantastic time. Plenty of magic for the kids, and enough deliberately awful puns to keep the adults entertained too. Really well done, great with the children, and one of the highlights of our day in York. Definitely worth doing.
It's for children but with great jokes for the adults. The children enjoyed finding the animals fantastic guide.
There is no correlation between the tour and the location. We thought there would be some tying in with the city of York and the tour
Thank you for your review. We do however make it very clear what the tour entails, and we don't advertise ourselves as a fact-based or historical tour. There are lots of those, and we like to be different! As the theme of the tour is wizardry, we also feel it's clear that this is a themed experience with the emphasis on magical family fun. We find that most families love the opportunity to make memories together, and that most children prefer amazement and laughter over facts and figures. I'm not quite sure what you mean by more genuine magic either - the tour features magic at every single stop. We have silly magic for our younger wanderers, and some real 'wow' moments for the grown-ups (plus plenty of humour along the way, pitched at all ages but all family-friendly) It's rare for us to receive three stars, but sorry to hear it wasn't what you were expecting. Hi, thank you for your review, I'm glad to hear how much the tour was enjoyed! We are not a factual tour of York, and don't advertise as one. We set out to create something refreshingly different and unique, and find that's why so many families love the experience! Whilst we could add details at each stop, it would make the tour much too long, and we prefer to to focus on fun, laughter and magic from start to finish.
