Where It All Begin: ベルリンのクィア＆トランス歴史ツアー

There are justifiably so many history tours in Berlin, but I always find learning about queer history so special and community-driven. The information shared on the tour was very interesting and well-put together, with videos and photos as well. Jeff was very knowledgeable and passionate! The tour itself was 3.5 hours but it felt like it flew by! The stops were relatively close so it was not tiring at all. We also took a break to eat and drink in a cafe, while Jeff continued to present. The group size is small, so the tour was conversational and there was time for lots of questions. I would highly recommend!

This was a fun, interactive, and educational tour that I recommend to anyone interested in this history. I searched online for similar tours but knew instantly that this was the one once I discovered it, and I was not let down. It was a wonderful experience involving historical sights, multimedia, trivia questions, and more. Try it out!

For my husband’s birthday, we did a private “Queer History” tour together with the family, and it was truly a special experience. The tour was unique, fascinating, and incredibly well researched. Jeff, our guide, was outstanding, we were completely captivated by every single story he told. His passion and knowledge made the tour truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!

This was an excellent and informative tour...one of the best of the 60 or so tours I have taken through Viator Small group of 8-10. Jeff really knew his history and presented it in a really interesting and innovative way. He was also extremely personable and took the time to talk to and get to know every guest between stops as well as answer questions along the way. This tour covered everything. Highly recommend.

This walking tour blew me away. Over three hours, it was very well paced with walks to locations, the telling of fascinating historical facts & stories, while having short rests. The tour was well supported by Jeff having a large iPad to show real photos & videos of the times & prominent people in history he was referring to. I have always been fascinated by Berlin in the roaring 1920s but to hear the amount of detail & personal grief suffered by the gay & trans community following the rise of the Nazis, was also devastating to hear. If you are in Berlin, this is a must do for an insight to the gay, lesbian & trans communities throughout the last century. 💙🩵💚🩷❤️🧡💛

I've visited Berlin many times over the years and always loved it but this tour gave me so many new insights and an understanding of how it has developed into one of the world's most dynamic and inclusive LGBTQ cities in the world. Jeff was fantastic, fun and knowledgeable. There have been many highs and lows over the years and those darker periods of history (the nazis and AIDS in particular) were sobering but handled sensitively and with compassion. In contrast the roaring 20's and development of latter day club culture were joyous and visiting some of the sites where it all began really took you back there. I had thought 3 and a half hours would be a bit long for a tour but the combination of multi-media presentations, interactive discussion and information giving always kept interest and the time flew by. I would recommend the tour to anyone, not just those from the LGBTQ communities. But certainly, as a gay man, this tour gave me insights which will make me appreciate the city even more when I visit in the future.
