If you're visiting Berlin, don't skip this tour. There are plenty of walking tours in the city, but this one gives you the background you need to really understand what you're seeing. Places that might seem like ordinary streets or buildings suddenly have fascinating stories behind them. Nir was a fantastic guide. He has a great way of bringing the history of Communist Berlin to life without making it feel like a history lesson. The tour was engaging from start to finish, with a great mix of historical facts, personal stories, and opportunities to ask questions. You could tell he genuinely enjoys sharing Berlin's history, and that made the experience even better. What I appreciated most was the context. We showed up 5 minutes early and couldn’t find the group at the designated meeting point. We tried contacted the company and they responded with the guide’s phone number. I called a few times but the guide’s never answered. They were completely incompetent, unable to coordinate or help us. We then asked for a refund and they refused. They were very rude and unhelpful. I would encourage getting tours from any other organization!

Just back from Berlin where we took The Sandeman walking tour that is called Communist Berlin and Berlin Wall Tour. Our guide was Simon and he was superb. His knowledge meant that we gleaned great historical information but his delivery made it easy to take this in. Our tour guide Cristobal was beyond words. So knowledgeable and passionate about history, that he made the entire experience enticing. Great walking tour. Two and a half hours would never be enough but the tour guide’s earnest efforts to give the proper context with respect to the history of Germany in general snd Berlin specifically greatly helped in understanding and appreciating the sites we visited. Our tour guide was Cristobal. He kept everything interesting and worthwhile. Highly recommended if you only have a limited time in Berlin.
We toured with Marcel and he was great, very personable and chatty without being too much so. Included personal stories of his early childhood in Berlin up to the time of the collapse of the Berlin Wall. Interesting facts and stories along the way. This tour focuses, as the name suggests, on the time when Berlin was divided into east and west. Great geographical orientation for some things we wanted to visit in our own time, tranenpalast and the ghost train stations (explained REALLY well). Marcel was an excellent guide on the 2 hour Berlin tour. He delivered lots of historical information to a large group on a cold wet morning but kept everyone fully engaged. It was a good way to get our bearings and locate areas we could revisit later.
