The hike to the sequoias is great!! But the uphill return is a challenge. The time in the park is limited so think ahead about what you want to see. The views are unbelievable, I can’t overstate this!! I would like to spotlight our guide, Oliver. His commentary during the drive and tour was perfect, a mix of facts and local stories and personal experiences.

It’s good but it was...
It’s good but it was disappointing that you only get to see two Sequoia trees and one of them is dead from a fire. Should not be part of the tour. A waste of time.

Incredible scenery and a heroic driver (Sharon), but the bus was a major safety hazard
I booked the Yosemite day tour to celebrate my birthday. While Yosemite was breathtaking and our driver/guide, Sharon, was incredible, the agency’s vehicle was in unacceptable condition and created serious safety concerns for everyone on board.
We were picked up on time at 5:30 AM in total darkness, but none of the bus’s interior lights worked, making boarding difficult for passengers (including a family with a stroller). The minibus was old and uncomfortable, but the main issues were structural and mechanical:
Drafty Door & Seat Swap: On the freeway, cold wind blasted through a gap in the front door. The two passengers in front were ready to quit the trip halfway through. Sharon was very helpful and ready to troubleshoot with duct tape, but to avoid a major delay, we offered to switch seats with those passengers so we could keep going.
Open Emergency Window: The emergency window near our seats was cracked open at the bottom corner. We tried closing it, but it kept popping open during the drive.
Engine Light & Sierra Descent: The check engine light stayed on the whole trip. On the steep Sierra downhill drive, you could feel Sharon’s anxiety trying to keep control of the bus, leaving us genuinely worried about whether the brakes were working properly.
Vehicle Condition: Compared to all the other tour vehicles parked in Yosemite, our bus stood out for being visibly beat up, old, and in very poor shape.
Our Driver, Sharon:
Sharon was absolute perfection under pressure. She was helpful, calm, and worked so hard to make sure everyone was safe and had a good experience despite being given a vehicle in such bad condition. She was a hero for getting that bus safely down the mountain.
Conclusion:
Sharon deserves all the praise in the world, but management needs to address this immediately. Putting drivers and guests in an improperly maintained vehicle on mountain passes is a huge risk. The agency must service and upgrade its fleet.

Forgotten giant trees
The tour was the Yosemite park AND the great Sequoia Trees. The driver was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. But the driver forgot the Sequoia trees part of the tour. We spent the entire time at Yosemite. Speaking only for myself-I was terribly disappointed. The giant trees were to be the best part for me.

Good value for money and time
It is a long day , almost 15-16 hours so be sure you can manage a full day! Great tour guide Glenda who made sure everyone was comfortable and accounted for in the bus after each stop. Good value for money

Great time
Had a great time visiting Yosemite with Extranomical tours! Our tour guide Glenda was amazing. She was super communicative in letting us know about the days itinerary, what stops we were making, and sharing historical stories and context about the towns we passed through. She even brought us snacks! Once we got to Yosemite we had a pretty good amount of time to explore and go at a leisurely place before meeting back with the group. As it’s a day tour and Yosemite is so big you won’t get to see everything, but this is not that kind of trip. I do recommend staying for a few days to get to experience more of what the park has to offer. But overall it was a good time and I highly recommend.

What a great day! Yes, it’s a very long day but so worth it.
Yosemite is breathtaking.
We had a brilliant guide named Sharon Disney and a great driver named Vincent.
Regular stops made it a comfortable experience.

Pleasant experience, awesome tour guide.
Tour guide, Sharon Disney, was awesome. She was extremely accommodating to all the guests, just incredible!!
It is a long tour and while described as day long a more apt description would be "a roughly 16-hour tour" Let customers know that the instruction order to experience "the trees" one needs to hike down and back up a rather steep incline - forewarned.
Some of the nicest scenery is on the drive when close to the parks. It would be nice to stop at some of those sites for pictures.
