A Thoroughly Enjoyable Experience

The visit to the World of Coca-Cola was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, made even better by having a guide through the building. You can go through on your own, but there are a few tidbits only those on the guided tour can experience. One of them comes around the start of the tour - holding one of the few remnants of the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics, the actual torch that was used during the run-up to the lighting of the Olympic Flame that centennial year for the Games. From there, it is one constant surprise after another. Getting to skip the line to meet the Coca-Cola Polar Bear is valuable (the line is long), and some of our guide's anecdotes were excellent. You'll be surprised by the wealth of information that you can pick up from your guide about Coca-Cola's history. If you have a choice, pop for the guided tour. It is well done and worth the extra expense.

Not worth the money. Could have gotten the exact information touring on your own. Guide was hard to hear in the crowd.

I was expecting more from the guided tour.

Fun for all !

Was here sooo long ago and remember it was good then but it's even better now ! Lots of history, photo opts and a great area to test your sense of smell. Vintage ads and merchandise really brought back memories ...and then you get to taste all the various products, including those they no longer produce. Many hands-on exhibits too ...fun for the whole family. They do a great job of moving crowd through the various areas and the gift shop was full of fun Coke stuff.

World of Coke

It’s lots of fun but can be crowded at times. We enjoyed seeing the museum with our guide, Jeff. Interesting history and we enjoyed the tasting area. The gift shop was as great too!

Interactive experience

Was not sure what to expect, but we had CityPASS and decided to check it out. More informative than I would have thought, but also very crowded. You can try multiple kinds of coke, but be prepared for crowds. Interactive parts did entertain our 6 year old, and he liked trying the different formulas.

Would have been five stars…..

Our visit would have received five stars had we not experienced the shocking behavior of being abandoned mid-tour by our host. The tour started well enough, with a little behind the scenes info and a free drink, and though parts of it felt a little rushed, the host was pretty good until we got to the Vault. Here, while we were still taking photos, the host abandoned my husband and myself. She, along with the other two people on the tour, left the Vault without so much as indicating to my husband and I that it was time to move on. We had only been in the Vault area for a few minutes and were taking pictures, when we noticed that she and the other two guests had left and so we rushed behind them, expecting at least the host to be waiting outside the vault for us - I would expect this even out of courtesy given that she didn’t even so much as say come on guys, it’s time to move on! To our shock, she was not waiting for us and she had moved on and we had to go into various spaces to look for her in order to continue our tour - we even spoke to another host who also tried to communicate with her to no avail. It took us more than 5 minutes and rushing through various spaces asking if our host with the other two guests had come through but we had no luck. We finally tracked her down at the polar bear photo spot - and - once we got to her - she feigned no interest that we had found her and despite me telling her that she just left us in the Vault without saying it’s time to go, there was not so much as a word of apology from her for abandoning us but rather an attitude of - if you can’t keep up that’s not my problem. To say that this kind of behavior is rude is an understatement- we paid for this guided tour and the least we expected is some courtesy from the host. A little heads up would have gone a long way. Having visited over 80 countries, this guided tour was not our first rodeo - we do know that you have to keep up with the group however - this host did not even so much as beckon to us that time was up in the vault - she simply chose to move on with the other 2 people in the group, pretty much abandoning us. For a world class organization like The Coca-Cola Company, I expected a lot better and more courtesy from their hosts who should be used to dealing with diverse groups of people. It would be understandable if we had been part of a large group - but there were only 4 of us. Myself, my husband, and another 2 guests- so our absence was very, very noticeable. The Good: would be a free drink, the VIP photo opportunity with the Polar Bear and a free tasting cup in the tasting room, as well as some interesting factoids about the drinks in the tasting lab and the recipe in the Vault. Perhaps the only things that gave this experience a 3 star rating. The Bad: the host we ended up with. Her behavior really left a sour taste and it is my sincere hope that she never treats another guest in that manner, because the experience is worthy of five stars which led us to leaving feeling disappointed and short changed.
