The meeting place was easy to find and convenient to be in front of the Starbucks for a quick breakfast. Our guide Teo was fantastic, I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable & professional this young man was. He made our trip on the bikes most memorable. I would do this trip again and again…. That’s how fun it was!! ( photo of grounds and farmers market).

Our guide Lena was a gem. Versailles is so much more than the palace itself. The grounds by bike is the best ever.

Great full experience not only of the ground of Versailles (really, the most beautiful park you have ever seen) but of the (historic, quite fancy) town of Versailles itself. We stopped for coffee and to grab lunch in the morning - bought some perfect fruit in the 16th century market - and then headed into the palace grounds. Michael our guide was delightful and well informed. Tickets get you into the park, the various estates on the property, and of course, into the palace, which you can peruse at your own pace at the end of the day. We were exhausted but extremely happy.

We couldn’t have been more pleased with this tour experience. It was a jam-packed day filled with wonderful experiences and provided a really fun way to wrap-up our week in Paris. The group tour was adeptly handled by Guillaume Jollivet. His knowledge and enthusiasm was truly infectious.

Our group of seven had an absolutely wonderful day exploring Versailles with Joe. From beginning to end, he made the experience incredibly fun, personal, and memorable. Joe has an amazing knowledge of French history, but it was his genuine passion and enthusiasm that really brought everything to life. He is a fantastic storyteller and shared the history of Versailles and the people who lived there in a way that was fascinating, entertaining, and easy to follow. One of our favorite parts of the day was visiting the local market with Joe to choose all the wonderful food for our picnic. He guided us through the different stalls, helped us make our selections, and then we enjoyed a beautiful picnic together—a perfect way to experience Versailles beyond just the palace. And Joe even sang to us! It was such a fun and unexpected touch and just one example of the warmth and personality he brought to the entire day. Joe was friendly, engaging, patient, and incredibly accommodating to everyone in our group. By the end of the tour, it felt much more like spending the day with a very knowledgeable and entertaining friend than simply following a tour guide. The combination of biking, the market, our picnic, the beautiful grounds, the history, and Joe’s wonderful personality made this one of the absolute highlights of our trip to France. We cannot recommend this tour—and especially Joe—highly enough!

What a magnificent adventure to bike through Versailles with our extraordinary tour guide Joe! His presentation was captivating, informational and amusing! Joe guided us through trains, markets, grounds, gardens, and the palace on our day long trip with ease, all the while peppering us with conversation, history and even song! 4 American couples came away more educated with full hearts.

Whether you are a local or a tourist, you should not miss the opportunity to bicycle through Versailles with Joris Cordell. His passion for Paris is pure and infectious. He is an attentive and enthusiastic guide. You will learn much and be totally entertained all at the same time. This was by far the best tour and tour guide I’ve experienced this week in the magical city of Paris!

This was a great experience, and Michel was a wonderful guide. I definitely recommend, but with a few “know before you go”: 1) the majority of this excursion is biking. The grounds at Versailles are extensive and biking was an excellent way to get around the entire estate. It was so beautiful, peaceful, and overall an easy and enjoyable ride, but we biked over 6 miles. 2) you will have very little time (or maybe energy) left for the main palace, which is in itself a massive undertaking. The bike portion ended around 4:30 and while trains back to Paris run until 10PM (in our particular case) we were exhausted and did a much quicker walk through of the palace than we would have done otherwise. It was okay, we loved the grounds and the other parts of Versailles that we saw (Maria Antoinette’s “village” and the mistress houses) but be aware of the main house is your priority that this particular tour might not be for you. A final note, some other reviewers commented on the difficulty of traveling back to Paris, but we found it fairly straightforward. All the trains (both platforms) go to Paris, so you just get on one. You do have to walk back from Versailles and board on your own, but with GPS, maps around the town, and the plethora of available trains, we found it to be fine. Enjoy!
