ストロンボリ島：シャラ・デル・フオコへの夕日のトレッキング - アシャラ

Any one visiting Stromboli is there to see the active volcano and going on this trip is a must. It’s a 2-hour hike uphill to reach the viewing area at 400 meters, arriving just after sunset. Then you have an hour to watch the lava explosions and take photos. I would recommend taking videos once you arrive to take advantage of the light. You then have a 2-hour hike in the dark back. Fortunately the paths we took were better made than on the ascent. You are supplied with a head torch but I would suggest taking a torch as well. The guide kept us well informed (unfortunately can’t recall his name) and gave us short rest breaks on the hikes. Whilst on Stromboli you should also go on the night time boat trip to look at the lava.

Very, very cool experience! Each step brings us as close as possible (depending on what is permitted) to a magnificent spectacle, in the starry night. A memory forever!

Started too late. Didn't have time for the sunset

Incredible experience. The walk up is challenging but we stopped regularly and the guide explained the history of the island and volcano. The views once at the crater are fantastic, both the regular eruptions and spectacular sunset are certainly worth the effort. Wonderful experience! Nino, our guide, was a fundamental part of the trip; he told us about his 40 years of experience as an alpine guide on Stromboli and Etna (we ADORED him). He answered all of our questions with enthusiasm and passion. I found the route quite strenuous, but guys... the view you see when you arrive is priceless. They provide helmets and headlamps. I must premise that I am not at all fit, but during the route, you stop often to rest.

the guide is essential to access beyond the regulated areas and the guide adds value, human, historical and technical to the ascent .
